Salma Hayek shares birthday dance with Channing Tatum after taking over Magic Mike role

Salma Hayek shared a video on Channing Tatum’s birthday of the pair dancing together at a small party.

The Mexican-American actor recently replaced Thandiwe Newton in Tatum’s Magic Mike’s Last Dance, a second sequel to the hit stripper comedy-drama Magic Mike.

Sharing the clip on Instagram, Hayek wrote: “Happy Birthday Channing!!!! You’re such a Joy to be around. Feliz cumpleaños @channingtatum.”

In the video, Tatum, who had just turned 42, can be seen wearing a pink birthday hat. Hayek danced a salsa with him while Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” can be heard playing in the background.

After giving Tatum a hug, she can be heard saying: “Happy birthday.”

Hayek was cast in Magic Mike’s Last Dance earlier this month after Newton stepped away from the film due to personal reasons.

“Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters,” a Warner Bros spokesperson said at the time.

A report subsequently claimed that the Solo: A Star Wars Story actor had been dropped from the project after rowing on set with Tatum, who also produces the film.

However, this was refuted by the Warner Bros spokesperson, as well as Newton herself.

Magic Mike 3 Will Be All About The Dancing, Promises Channing Tatum

By Adam Bentz

Share Tweet Share Share Share Email

Channing Tatum says the third and final film in the series, Magic Mike's Last Dance, will be less about character and more about dancing.

Channing Tatum promises Magic Mike's Last Dance will be less about character and more about dancing. The actor actually made his breakthrough with the dance film Step Up in 2006, though he is perhaps best known for his titular role in the Magic Mike series. The films are loosely based on Tatum's own experiences as a young stripper in Florida and are largely responsible for turning Tatum into the Hollywood star and sex symbol he is known as today.

Though many thought the series was over after Magic Mike XXL hit theaters in 2015, a touring cabaret show, Magic Mike Live, launched the following year. A dance competition show titled Finding Magic Mike also found a home on HBO Max. Fans were surprised late last year when it was announced that a third Magic Mike movie was in the works with original director Steven Soderbergh and writer Reid Carolin returning. This one will likely be the last in the series, as it is officially titled Magic Mike's Last Dance.

In a new interview with Variety, Tatum shared a few teases about what audiences should expect to see in the Magic Mike threequel. Though much of the film's plot remains a mystery, Tatum says it's "going to be a full dance-icle," in which he dances harder than he did for Hail Caesar!, the 2016 Coen brothers film for which Tatum learned how to tap dance. He finished his remarks by promising "less character" and "more dancing." Read what he had to say below:

This one’s going to be a full dance-icle. We’re going to swing for the fence. I’m going to dance as hard as I’ve danced in any movie other than Hail, Caesar! I want this movie to be filled with joy and fun. Everybody is like, "Less character, more dancing." So I’ve listened.

Tatum was likely being facetious when he said the final film will feature "Less character, more dancing. " Soderbergh has already revealed that Mike will be in a relationship for the third movie, suggesting this will be an important part of the character's development. The director also corroborated Tatum's recent comments, saying that Magic Mike's Last Dance will take the "dancing to another level."

Both the director and the lead star have been quite clear about how the third film will flaunt more dance numbers, so audiences should know exactly what to expect when Magic Mike's Last Dance streams exclusively on HBO Max, likely sometime this year. Before then, Tatum will return to the silver screen later this month in Dog, which he also directed, followed by his starring role in The Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock, slated for a theatrical release next month. Tatum had taken a break from acting since 2017, but now he's coming back in a big way.

Channing Tatum danced twerk as a 70-year-old man

Twerking conquers the stars in Moscow, Crimea and Hollywood: this incendiary dance drives the whole world crazy! So Channing Tatum could not ignore the general interest in energetic pas. At the premiere of Magic Mike XXL, the famous actor performed this dance as a 70-year-old man. The audience met this prank with thunderous applause.

The old marketer surprised everyone in the audience with his twerking

A few days before the premiere of Magic Mike XXL, a special event was held, to which only a select few could receive an invitation. Tatum fans and movie buffs alike were convinced they were going to see the movie in 3D. But the organizers decided to give the audience a real surprise, which caused a whole storm of emotions, discussions and "likes" in social networks.

Upon entering the hall, everyone was greeted by a marketing researcher named Scott Haisley. A bearded old man with glasses asked the guests various questions and tirelessly made notes in his notebook. The results of the marketing research were to be used in future advertising campaigns.

When the marketer's polls were over and the audience took their seats, something incredible happened. Men ran out into the hall with bare torsos and began to perform hot dances. At the sight of gentlemen with pumped up bodies, the ladies began to violently express their delight with squeals, screams and whistles. And when the 70-year-old marketer began to take off his business suit, sitting on the lap of one of the excited spectators, the hall was filled with screams.

Wild and erotic dances brought the audience to euphoria. The old marketer jumped onto the stage, turned his back to the audience and performed an incendiary twerking. When the vigorous movement of the hips ended, he tore off his beard, and the surprised audience saw Channing Tatum in front of him. A flurry of enthusiastic cries fell upon the actor.

Twerking on the big stage

In April, Channing Tatum has already managed to please his fans with erotic dances. The actor demonstrated masterly control of his own body at the MTV Movie Awards 2015. Jennifer Lopez asked to tell what the shooting of the team of the acclaimed film "Magic Mike XXL" gave.
