How old is keo on dancing with the stars
'Dancing With the Stars' Pros That Have Left and Why
Making changes! Dancing With the Stars has found plenty of success since its debut in 2005. Since then, the ABC dancing competition has had many newcomers and has said goodbye to many OGs.
Julianne Hough, who competed from season 4 to season 8, announced that she was leaving in 2009 to pursue other interests. Hough went on to kickstart her career as an actress in films such as Safe Haven, Burlesque, Rock of Ages and Footloose.
The Utah native later returned as a judge from season 19 until 24 and has previously said that she has never ruled out a potential return.
“Look, never say never because you never know what one day will be from the next,” Hough told Us Weekly in August 2019. “But I owe my career to that show! I was 18 and they brought me back in two different ways. I was a dancer, I was a judge and I’m so happy for everything that’s going on there. ”
Another standout was Keo Motsepe who was the first Black professional dancer on the show when he joined for season 19. Motsepe stayed on the show until 2021, when he announced that he wouldn’t be returning for the upcoming season.
“While it’s disappointing to not be back for season 30, I’ve been honored to be on the last nine seasons of the show and look forward to returning in the future,” he told Us in September 2021. “There’s a great group this season and I wish all the dancers and the show the best of luck!”
At the time, a source told Us that it will be “heartbreaking” to the other professionals not to have Motsepe return for another chance to win the mirrorball trophy.
“Keo loves being a pro and being part of DWTS, but also feels this opens the door for him to expand into other things he’s been working toward,” the insider noted.
Lindsay Arnold, who was returning to DWTS for season 30, also reflected on the Burn the Floor alum’s absence.
“It’s always so hard because we truly are a family and we love each other so much,” Arnold told Entertainment Tonight after the announcement. “I actually just texted Keo this morning just saying that I love him, I hope I get to see him soon and I hope he’s doing well.”

Keo Motsepe may not have walked away with the mirrorball trophy this season -- that went to Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev! -- but it looks like his time on Dancing With the Stars was a winning one after all.
Fans couldn't seem to contain their excitement late Wednesday when news broke that the 31-year-old pro dancer is dating Chrishell Stause. The Selling Sunset star, 39, competed with Gleb Savchenko, while Keo was paired with actress Anne Heche.
"Chrishell and Keo have been seeing each other for a couple of weeks now, and haven't been shy about showing PDA in front of the other Dancing with the Stars cast members," a source told ET. "Everyone has been so supportive of their relationship. Things have been heating up and they're very into each other."
Between Dancing With the Stars and Selling Sunset, the spotlight has definitely been on Chrishell this year, but now it's time to shed some light on her new beau. Here's seven things you may not know about Keo, the guy who's already promised to "always make [her] smile."
1. He's been a ballroom star long before he joined DWTS.
Keo, who has been dancing since he was 11 years old, made history in 2014 by becoming the dance competition show's first Black pro dancer. Throughout the nine seasons he's competed on DWTS, he's been paired with celebrities like Lolo Jones, Jodie Sweetin, Chaka Khan and Evanna Lynch. He has yet to win the mirrorball trophy, but we could definitely see one in his future!
Prior to joining the show, Keo had already made a name for himself as an international Latin ballroom dancer representing South Africa. He was also featured on the international Latin live dance show Burn The Floor.
2. He's a South African prince.
Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Keo (full name: Keoikantse Motsepe) confirmed in a 2016 interview with NPR that he is kind of a big deal back in his home country.
"I am a prince, yes sir, from my dad's side," he shared. "My grandpa was a prince of a province back in South Africa. My dad declined the position and gave it to my uncle, his younger brother. But because I'm my dad's only son, I became a prince."
3. Dance isn't his only passion.
Keo is also a writer and singer, with a strong love for Broadway and all-things theater. Before the coronavirus pandemic turned our world upside down, Keo was cast as Babylonian King Xerxes in Esther, The Heart of a Queen. The dance musical also tapped fellow DWTS pro Sharna Burgess for the lead role of Esther.
4. He loves to cook.
When he's not busy dancing, you can likely catch Keo in the kitchen, working his magic. The multi-talented heartthrob is also an excellent cook, and loves sharing recipes with fans. If you've been wanting to learn more tips and tricks on how to put together amazing meals for loved ones, be sure to follow Keo on Instagram (@keo_mostepe) and tune into some of his cooking livestreams.
5. He's a fan of Selling Sunset.
Yep, just like the rest of us, Keo has been binge-watching the hit reality series during quarantine. The Netflix show features his girl, Chrishell, along with her fellow real estate agents from the Oppenheim group like Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young and Amanza Smith.
Keo's also been watching Designated Survivor and finds himself constantly jamming out to Michael Bublé and JP Cooper these days.
6. Traveling brings him joy.
One of the things Keo is most looking forward to post-COVID-19 is traveling. Some of the places on his list (and his favorite places to explore!) include Tulum, Japan, Bora Bora and the Maldives.
7. He loves giving back.
If you didn't already have enough reasons to love him, you'll surely fall for his heart of gold! Keo has already achieved so much over the years, but one dream he still hopes to make a reality is to end homelessness. Through his philanthropic initiative Thank the Angels, he and his celebrity friends assemble gift bags filled with blankets, clothes, toys and food to give out to the homeless communities and shelter homes in Los Angeles.
While speaking with ET back in September, Chrishell revealed that she was warming up to the idea of getting back into the dating game following her highly-publicized split from Justin Hartley. The two tied the knot in 2017, but the This Is Us star filed for divorce last November.
"I'm in a really positive space," Chrishell told ET at the time. "It feels like it's just an important time to say yes to things, because you don't know how short life is. You don't know how long you're going to be here. You're not promised anything, so if this year has taught me anything, it's just -- even if it scares you, just say yes, dress up, show up, get out there. "
Shortly after Chrishell and Keo confirmed their romance with lovey dovey pics and videos posted to social media, the two both appeared on an Instagram Live (separately) with Kaitlyn Bristowe and her boyfriend, Jason Tartick. The new couple couldn't seem to help themselves from gushing over each other while speaking to Kaitlyn and Jason about their exciting news.
"I'm grateful. I had the best experience [on DWTS] but this to me is the coolest thing," Chrishell marveled. "I knew from my dance work I wasn't going to win a mirrorball from the beginning. But to have this come from it, I'm just very smitten."
In his own appearance, Keo confessed, "I'm blushing, by the way."
"The most important thing for me is her," he said. "It's the love that we received and everything that's more of a bonus, and as long as she's happy [we're good]."

When your ethnicity becomes the hallmark by which people begin to distinguish you, it takes years of painstaking work to get them to recognize your talent. Keo Motsepe made the most of his journey by showcasing his prowess before landing on the US TV series Dancing with the Stars as the first African-American professional dancer in the show's franchise. Unfortunately, he did not manage to win the magnificent Mirrorball Trophy, but he was recognized as one of the best ballroom dancers from South Africa. Coming from a princely background, he has no history of wrestling. However, his path to the glorious career he is proud of today was not without its challenges. Keoicanze "Keo" Motsepe was born on 24 November 1989 in Pretoria, South Africa, and is a paternal prince. On the advice of his best friend, Keo tried dancing at the age of 5 with the intention of trying something other than football. Well, he was fascinated by the spectacular art of Latin American and ballroom dancing. Keogh's mother encouraged him for the simple reason that his clothes were less dirty from dancing than from playing on the ground. She did not know that her son would become a legendary Terpsichorean. nine0003

Since we wear diapers, we may not notice it, but dance and movement flow through our body. We can bounce and move to almost any rhythm or series of sounds we associate with, and pretty soon the dance becomes a serious push to keep going. Keo Motsepe is a prime example of how early dance potential starts, especially with boys.
Motsepe was born in South Africa and started dancing for fun at the age of five. By the age of seven, Motsepe began to take dancing seriously, which inspired him to start training with Rafik Hussein. Motsepe reflected on the influence Hussein had on the development of his love of dancing. nine0003

“He has been a mentor to me all my life,” Mocepe says. "He made me the dancer that I am today because he took the passion he saw in me and made me see it and believe in it. "

Mocepe's professional career began when he was 11 years old when he entered the dance scene. Representing his country, Mocepe competed in Latino and Valroom dance styles. Participation in these various competitions was just the beginning for Mocepe. In 2014, Motsepe joined ABC's Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) Quit like a pro. Being in this new realm of competitive dance, while exciting, has given him great opportunities as well as great challenges.
“I think one of the biggest challenges I have faced and continue to face is going beyond what I think and can achieve,” Motsepe shares.
Due to the long rehearsals and the seemingly short amount of time to learn the choreography for each show, Motsepe says: DWTS, where you put on a new piece every week, you have to find new things that inspire you to create something that will be better than the week before.”

Regardless of the challenges that may be thrown at him, Motsepe has demonstrated one of the most important skills he uses to improve himself in the show.
“It's important to stay fresh and constantly push through the limits you've set for yourself,” says Motsepe. nine0003
Now in his fourth season of DWTS, Motsepe has become a crowd favorite and partnered with Jody Sweetin of Full House and Fuller House. Mocepe spoke about his initial reaction when he found out he would be Sweetin's partner.
“When I found out that she was my partner, I was very grateful,” says Motsepe. “That first rehearsal was memorable for me because I knew I had a partner who would give 110 percent to this process.” nine0003
Motsepe went on to describe his experience with Svitin as his partner on DWTS . He described his experience with Jody as truly incredible.

“She has the best attitude,” Mocepe says. “Every time I choreograph and show it to her, no matter how difficult the dance move is, she always wants to try it. ” nine0003
Svitin's positivity and willingness to learn fueled Mocepe's desire to challenge her with every piece he puts on for them. In season 22 or any other season, there is always a performance that really stands out and leaves a mark not only on the audience, but also on the dancers. While it may seem impossible to pick a favorite performance, Motsepa has managed to find one that has had a strong influence on his partnership with Sweetin so far.
“If I had to pick one, I would name our contemporary dance ‘Try’ by Pink because it demanded a lot from both Jodi and me,” says Motsepe. "She was the warrior I want to see in her every week." nine0003
Mocepe and Svitin continue to push the boundaries with new choreography and aim to stay strong through season 22. DWTS . For those who haven't done ballroom or Latin dancing but want to do it, Mocepe has some great words of wisdom.
"Never limit yourself," he says. “Never doubt yourself. Believe what you are doing and follow your instincts.
