Just Dance 3

The third game in Ubisoft's hit dancing game franchise once again challenges players to mimic moves of professional dancers. As with past games, the Nintendo Wii version of JUST DANCE 3 has you hold the motion-sensing Wii Remote in your hands as you perform the onscreen dance moves to rack up points. But for the first time, Xbox 360 gamers can also get in on the fun by using the hands-free Kinect for Xbox 360 peripheral; body moves are captured by the sensors and camera to judge your rhythm compared to the onscreen dancers. The game is also available on PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Move peripheral and PlayStation Eye camera. For all three versions, there are more than 40 tracks to dance along with, spanning a wide range of musical genres, such as pop, hip-hop, rock, country, disco, R&B, Bollywood, and Reggaeton. Example of popular songs from today and yesterday include "Pump It" by Black Eyed Peas, "I Was Made For Lovin’ You" by KISS, "California Gurls" by Katy Perry and the no. 1 spot on music charts during the summer of 2011, "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO. More songs will be available via optional download. — Minor Language - Some lyrics might be suggestive, such as Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous ("you're teasing me") or KISS's I Was Made For Loving You ("In the darkness...there's so much I wanna do"). The words "hell," "damn" and "sexy" can also be heard. Minor Sexual Movements - Some of the dance moves require you to rotate your hips or shake your buttocks, but there's nothing too graphic here. Retails for $39.99

Love the game, but some of the songs aren't for kids...

I own and love all 3 Just Dance games (along with the Smurfs and Michael Jackson). The variety is great, it's exercise, and it's mostly good clean fun. I'm very hesitant about a few things that are on the game though. For examples: Boom: Full of thrusting hips and shaking your rear - not suitable for a young adult in a club, much less a small child! Promiscuous: Lyrics include: "You expect me to just let you hit it but will you still respect me if you get it. I can see you with nothing on feeling on me before you bring that on" In between there are a few drinking references (I don't understand why Kesha can say she has beer, but they edit drunk out), I do play the game a lot with my kids, but they know they're not allowed to play a few of the songs within the game.

WAY, WAY, WAY BETTER THAN THE OTHER TWO!!!

This is absolutely the best dance game ever! It's way better than the other two! It's more fun, more challenging, and the dance moves are cooler! But like the second game, some female dancers wear sexy clothing and they do some questionable dance moves, but like Common Sense says, there's nothing too graphic. Other than that, this is a great game for the whole family! GAME ON!!!

Amazing for the family, and safe too

Amazing and family friendly, top dance songs; wife and 9 and 6 y-o girls were dancing in no time to the tune of California Girls; explicit sexual words were stripped off the song and written lyrics; Kinect camera caught me near and soon I was dancing too; very cool...;

Ubisoft Squeeze Out the Sweat and Money - Just Dance 2021 Review

While EA Sports is churning out sports sims, Ubisoft continues to re-release console-based digital house party attraction Just Dance. The new version of the rhythm game turned out to be bright, dynamic and really exciting... that is, absolutely the same as the previous part of the series. We explain why you should think carefully before buying Just Dance 2021.

The Just Dance series started back in 2009 and has attracted a huge audience even outside of arcade clubs and Dance Dance Revolution. The main reason for the success of the franchise was the simplicity of the gameplay, which the name itself hints at - “Just Dance”, which everyone can handle in one way or another. In general, everything is so, but it’s still worth explaining what the game is.

    Dancing is my element

As you might guess, the essence of Just Dance is dancing, or rather, trying to repeat the most diverse steps behind the dancers on the screen. The system tracks movements using a camera or device in the player's hand and awards points for accuracy. The gameplay formula is extremely simple, but it is quite addictive if you find the right tracks, the company and the strength to get up from the couch.

You can use an ordinary smartphone with a gyroscope as a "gamepad" in Just Dance - no additional accessories are required here, although the developers could have gone this way. Of course, in this case, in order to get high marks in the game, it is enough just to move one hand, but in the process, you still involuntarily begin to dance with the rest of the body.

Just Dance looks especially organic on the Nintendo Switch, which seems to have been created for home entertainment in a small company. With this console, you don’t even need a smartphone to play - basic Joy-Cons will be enough. In addition to the precise gyroscope, these controllers are equipped with special straps: believe me, even if your palms never sweat, launching a gamepad or smartphone directly into the TV while dancing is very, very simple.

Thanks to the overall uncomplicated gameplay and the great combination of music, games and simple activities, Just Dance is suitable for almost everyone. In addition to the standard mode, there is a fitness interface that counts calories burned instead of points for accurate dance performance, as well as a children's section with simple movements, cartoon style and cartoon songs. This series does not need more - it would seem.

    Only dancing and you

All of the above applies to Just Dance 2021, which is great. The series has been consistently entertaining high-profile companies for more than ten years, making those who want to lose weight effortlessly sweat and trying to diversify E3 with mass dances. But there is one problem, or rather, there are already at least three of them - starting from the 2019 version, the franchise has hardly changed.

It is clear that dancing in a playful way, and even with the slogan "Just dance", is difficult to diversify, but even a new interface would be very useful. I was extremely disappointed when I activated my Ubisoft key, downloaded the game, skipped the colorful intro and returned to Just Dance 2019.

The only interesting new feature is the Quick Play feature available on the main screen of the game. Thanks to her, you can not delve into a huge library of songs and playlists, but simply dance to a randomly selected song, but this works until the first inappropriate track. It would be great if the game immediately offered options from five different selections and did not rush the user with a ten-second countdown.

In this regard, the comparison with EA Sports simulators is the most accurate. Year after year, Just Dance fans get the same game - FIFA fans at least try to improve the physics of the ball and give digital football players a human look. But Just Dance could well have simple rhythm games in the Mario Party format, a Dance Dance Revolution-style mode with a special carpet as an additional accessory, or even creative modes with the ability to independently select movements, at least for children's songs. There are a lot of options, use Ubisoft.

And the music drives you crazy

As a result, when buying Just Dance 2021, owners of at least one previous game in the series pay ₽3,990 for 40 new songs and a month of Unlimited subscription, which gives access to an expanded music library. Given that the same amount can pay for more than two years of subscription in the previous version of Just Dance, the offer is at least not very profitable. Unless someone urgently needed a couple of songs by Billy Eilish, BLACKPINK or The Weeknd right here and now.

The Just Dance 2021 basic tracks list does have a few popular songs, but in most cases they either sound too monotonous or not suitable for dancing at all - at least not in the format of the game. For example, in this part of the series there are two versions of Without Me by Eminem at once, but in both cases you want to listen more than dance.

I'm not the biggest fan of dancing, so I was helped to test Just Dance 2021 by a small company, the female half of which knows almost the entire Ultimate library by heart. Even for them, there were only a few interesting options in the new selection of tracks - let alone the male part: we quickly became disillusioned with dancing to Eminem and returned to the cult Dragostea Din Tei from O-Zone, The Bremen Town Musicians and The Sun in Hands.

Going back to the FIFA parallel, Just Dance 2020 just had a little roster update. At the same time, Ubisoft updates the Ultimate library quite often, including tracks from the latest installments. Under such conditions, the entire series should have switched to a shareware model with a subscription a long time ago, because the new annual versions make less and less sense.

    No more parties

It's quite possible that Just Dance is heading towards the game-service format. It currently has three free tracks that are technically an Ultimate subscription. By the way, recently they included a new song from the virtual band K/DA from League of Legends. Ubisoft could expand this collection to the same 40 songs, and give the rest only for money.

In such a system, Ultimate could become a kind of Xbox Game Pass with constant track rotations. If you add to this the ability to buy tracks individually or in whole sets, Ubisoft would certainly get even more than from annual re-releases. Just imagine how much circulation an add-on with a dozen BTS songs would sell - it becomes scary.

In the meantime, Just Dance 2021 remains the most common game in the series, worth buying only for die-hard fans and those who want to dance in front of the TV for the first time. When you get to know the series and apart from the previous parts, this is still the best way to warm up or have fun with friends without leaving home.

    • dancing — This is always fun
    • game is easy to master
    • . The presence of network and command modes
    • excellent visual design

    • is too few innovations
    • Weak set of new songs
    • CLAYS PLAY 9005 9000 9000 9000 9000 9000 9000 9000. ..

Just Dance 2021 did not make the series worse and even brought a couple of pleasant little things, but it is simply impossible to evaluate it without looking back at the previous parts. In the world of game-services, each year of stagnation should subtract at least a point from the score of the next re-release.

We asked drug addicts how much their habit cost them

Cocaine (photo courtesy of Flickr user Valerie Everett)

In her youth and in her 20s, Jennifer made up to $3,700 a week striptease dancing in Ottawa, Canada. Almost all of that money went to cocaine.

“The effort I put into spending money on cocaine is uncountable,” Jennifer, now 47, told VICE. “It's an incredible amount. I would be a millionaire."

She currently lives on social assistance.

"I don't have a penny for my soul."

According to the 2002 study by the Canadian Center for Substance Abuse, the “society cost” of substance abuse in terms of health care and the criminal justice system is about US$30 billion.

For the individual, the cost of maintaining addiction can be ruinous; while some resort to crime and prostitution to pay for their favorite drugs, and in parallel lose their health, home, freedom and family.

VICE reached out to several current and former addicts to ask how much their addiction cost them. (All expenses listed below are converted to US dollars.)

      Cost: $60 per gram
      $450-1200 per day

to continue your career. By the age of 16, she was addicted to cocaine.

“All the other girls used it. He helped to survive the night, you could just work longer and longer.

Soon after she turned 20, her addiction increased. Then, according to her, all her money (from 1,500 to 3,700 dollars a week) went to support her habit. Depending on how much she earned, she spent between $450 and $1,200 a day.

"I probably slept from 3-4 am to 1 pm, and the rest of the time I used cocaine."

This schedule continued until she was about 29.

“Back then, I guess I was too old to just keep doing striptease, and my drug addiction had gone too far,” she said. “I started prostitution.”

Finding clients on the street, Jennifer, by her own admission, earned about a thousand a night. She started injecting herself with cocaine because it made the high "more intense" and continued to snort it and smoke crack.

She also began to traffic in smoking cocaine to pay for drugs, which, along with a conviction for prostitution and fraud, landed her in prison for seven years. About four years ago, she started stealing groceries from stores.

“Mostly meat and cheese,” she said, adding that meat on the black market is “huge” money.

"For example, a roast meat costs $25 and you get about $12... You steal about 16 pieces a day."

For the past two years, Jennifer has tried to get off cocaine, although she told VICE she still relapses. She also advocates for harm reduction and works with women who have been victims of violence; she recently testified in court against a man who she says raped her.

Now Jennifer lives on social assistance and tries not to commit crimes, although the temptation is still there.

“I was just thinking about this this morning,” she told VICE. “I met a friend by chance, and let’s tell her how much junk she has and how she got the hang of stealing in stores ... And I just turned around and walked away.”

      Cost: $3 per tablet (4mg)
      $75 per day

Sean Leblanc, 43, lives in a small Ottawa apartment with a girlfriend. Although he has a great job and a stable relationship, he says it "still hurts to think" that he could live in the house now if it weren't for his crippling opioid addiction.

Leblanc told VICE that he started using hydromorphone (trade name dilaudide), a fast-acting and powerful pain reliever, nine years ago after his pregnant girlfriend overdosed and drowned in a bathtub. At the time, he was a student at St. Thomas University and a DJ in Fredericton.

A week after her death, "a dude gave me this dilaudid, fully loaded in a syringe, which is exactly what I needed," he said. “But I didn’t feel anything.”

However, the effect of dilaudid wears off after five to six hours. Within a couple of weeks, Leblanc, according to him, developed a physical dependence on the drug and began to withdraw. He needed more to get high - instead of putting one pill in a spoon, he needed five for the same feeling. At the peak of his addiction, he, by his own admission, took 160 mg per day, and this sometimes meant up to 40 injections.

"If I didn't spend $100 a day, it was a good day," he said.

He, by his own admission, stopped attending classes, was kicked out of the university, lost his job, and eventually resorted to stealing from large chain stores.

      Advertising

By his own admission, except for weed and - very rarely - methadone, Leblanc no longer uses harmful drugs. He is engaged in propaganda work with other similar drug addicts.

He told VICE he spent $200,000 on opioids by a "conservative estimate" and that doesn't include cocaine, alcohol and LSD, which he also used.

“Just think about it and my heart bleeds.” Flickr Scott by the age of 16, he had become a full-fledged alcoholic.

At the worst stage of his addiction, he, by his own admission, drank a bottle of rum (20-30 ounces) a day, plus about 20 glasses of beer.

"I also made my own beer to keep going," he told VICE. “So I rolled down the slope faster.”

Because it was the 80s, he was earning about $5 an hour working as a cook and spending half of it on booze. According to him, the food industry "really contributes to alcoholism and drug addiction."

While living in Vancouver, Sproul, by his own admission, also became addicted to heroin. It cost about $225 per gram, and he started consuming up to $375 a day.

"It's very expensive," he told VICE. “It gets to the point where you just have to engage in armed robbery and the like in order to just continue to use it.” (He, by his own admission, never did this).

      Advertising

“I'm kind of middle class. I had a family, I had a job, I had [savings through a personalized retirement savings plan].” Now it's all gone.

"I spent $10,000 in four months."

Stephen's first exposure to crack at age 16 was "incredible".

"It was serious from the start," he told VICE.

In his youth, by his own admission, he spent about 60 dollars per gram on cocaine powder and prepared it with friends. To pay for it, they stole electronics and jewelry, as well as begging.

As he grew older, he began working as a laborer to maintain this addiction, spending about $225 a day on three grams of pre-cooked crack.

He started on hydromorphone to end his high on crack and escape his "cocaine psychosis."

"When you smoke a lot of crack, you have to find a way to relieve stress, and that can be done by throwing opioids to sleep," he told VICE.
