SO much fun! I dont think I would enjoy the game as much without the unlimited option. It gives a variety for all of my family members from me in my 30s, to my teens, to even my two year old being able to find songs he enjoys. Excellent option!

Dance your emotions | ROSTOF.RU

05/14/2020, /=RO=/ You probably know about the existence of art therapy, you have heard something about music therapy and, perhaps, imagine communication with a psychologist as a conversation during which you lie on the couch and talk about your problems. But there are other, not widely known methods to understand yourself and cope with your feelings. One of them is dance therapy. Psychologist Alena Matetskaya told about how it differs from ordinary dances and why it costs more to dance now.

Non-musical dances

Dance movement therapy was invented not by psychologists, but by ordinary dancers. In an effort to move away from the complex images of classical ballet to lively emotions, modern dancers began to explore how the body can live in dance. They later suggested that such dance-exploration might have a therapeutic effect. The creators of dance therapy in the middle of the 20th century were the dancers Marion Chase and Mary Wigman. This is one of the rare cases when the method of psychotherapy was invented by non-professionals.

- Dance therapy is a cross between art therapy, art therapy and a body-oriented approach. We live through the body some emotions, situations. It happens that people say: I’m not happy, I can’t get angry, I can’t experience pleasure normally, I do something and I don’t feel anything. Dance therapy can help a lot, because emotions live in the body - if you establish a connection with it, a person begins to live a more fulfilling life, feel better. The level of energy rises, a person feels ready to do something, to decide something, - says Alena Matetskaya.

At the same time, the psychologist clarifies, it is not necessary to be a professional dancer or to strive to move somehow complicated and technically. Dances can be absolutely anything. The main thing is that these actions suit the person. You can dance without music, you can dance without rhythm. If you really want to, you can just move your fingers - the main thing is that the person himself feels like dancing, there are no other conditions and mandatory criteria.

This is probably what makes dance-movement therapy different from ordinary dances. There is no clear choreography for her, as well as the concept of “right” or “wrong” dances. Getting into the music is also not so important. The same exercises will have a different look depending on who is dancing and how he feels. The dance can be calm or expressive - as the dancer wants.

- It's not like they turned on the music and said: "Dance about your anger." A person may have some kind of session request. First, we can talk a little: what is happening, how do you feel it in your body now, when you realized that you have this problem. And the therapist begins to direct from this: “Listen, where is this sensation in the body now, try to find some expression in the movement of what you feel. ” A person might say, for example, "I feel my heart clench." You can say that he showed, became his heart and showed how it shrinks. And the dancer begins to live it through the images. The therapist asks him questions, but more often not about the body. He refers to his condition: “Listen to what is happening with you and find some form for it,” the expert explained.

Classes, by the way, can be held both in a group and individually. When working in a team, it will be easier to solve problems related to communication and interaction with other people; talking with the therapist one on one, you can go deeper into difficult topics for the patient.

Homework

The good news is that you don't have to make an appointment to try dance therapy. Although it will be easier for those who have ever tried this practice with a professional, and for people whose life is partly connected with dancing. But you can figure it out yourself.

— You can try the simplest principle: if there are states, experiences that you want to change, you can listen to how they are felt in the body. We often say, "I'm tense," "I'm shaking," or "I'm shaking." You can start by trying to make it an action and listen to what starts happening to you, the psychologist suggested.

You can practice without special techniques - just turn on the music and move, letting go of yourself psychologically. This practice can become a kind of first aid in conditions of self-isolation and under other stressful circumstances.

— The key word in dance and movement therapy is movement, that is, you just need to move, include the body in experiencing what is happening to you. Now everyone is worried, worried - the brain is loaded with information, while the body usually remains motionless. And this is a lot of stress. Therefore, just turning on the body, starting to move with music, perhaps with some kind of emotional experience, can help a person a lot,” Alena added.

Another advantage of this approach over some other methods is that a person cannot go too deep into himself and make himself worse. The body "grounds" the dancer, keeps him afloat, while helping to work with the internal state.

Important note: music can interfere with the process. It is worth dwelling on the ambient genre and similar calm compositions that will not be distracting. Conventionally, such songs can even be called meditative. The fact is that music with a clear rhythm, with some kind of pressure and aggression, draws attention to itself and interferes with a person. He begins to follow her involuntarily, forgetting to listen to inner feelings. And this certainly does not contribute to the positive effect of therapy.

About dances and accidents

It is worth remembering that each person and problem needs its own approach. Some people like this kind of therapy, some people don't like it. Alena recalls her first group, which she began to lead to write a diploma. For one of the participants, dance therapy fit perfectly.

— I was just starting, I had a very basic understanding of how to do it. But it helped her a lot. She wrote to me on social networks that until now, five years later, she recalls that this greatly changed her life, gave impetus to further change many things. As far as I know, she then took up creativity, changed something in her work, her personal life. Somehow I turned on such a flow of changes. She herself associates this with the group, the psychologist shared.

Interestingly, Alena Matetskaya herself came to dance therapy almost by accident. She was just choosing a topic for her diploma and suddenly the idea arose to combine two favorite things in her work - dancing and psychology. Alena has been dancing for 10 years, five of them are actively engaged in psychological practice. And despite the fact that now she often uses more classical methods of work, the dance therapy group with which the psychologist studied the effect of the method on anxiety and self-esteem was her first serious experience, from which she began to move.

Now Alena has expanded her field of activity, focusing on talking therapy and the Gestalt approach. But if a person has a request or if the psychologist sees that it is necessary to work with the body, she readily returns to dance therapy. And, it seems, is not going to delete dancing from his life.

- You know, in existential therapy they say that we have a body, we have a psyche, and there is a spirit - something beyond, inexplicable, but something that is felt. For me, dance is the spirit of the physical, supermovement. Some kind of pinnacle of a person’s bodily expression, probably, ”said Alena.

According to her, now this direction continues to develop. There are still not as many psychologists working in it as in Gestalt therapy and other areas. Perhaps the reason lies in the need to combine the role of a psychologist and the ability, if not to dance, then at least to move freely and feel your body, which not all specialists can do. In addition, for the sessions you need a spacious office or hall, so that a person has a place to turn around.

But for home sessions, only a person and his desire to move are needed. And if you want, turn on the music.

Dance. Just dance - FONAR.TV

Youth theater or Latin American dances? I posed this question to myself in way back in 2014. By that time student time is over, and life began smoothly turn into a boring routine "home-work-home". I wanted something bright and creative.

Is it was the finger of fate, or just right customized targeted advertising on VKontakte, but I came across an ad about enrolling in a dance school under the guidance of two wonderful coaches Dima Lunev and Jamila Glazunova. I've always liked salsa and bachata rhythms, so I immediately I signed up for a trial lesson.

I will say honestly, going to the first lesson was scary. Some people, some the same age as you, and someone similar to your uncle, something there with hands and feet make ... a real hodgepodge. But it is at first glance. When the coaches came and turned on the music, all boundaries were erased instantly. And now you're doing something hands and feet together with everyone, coaches support, you succeed, you happy and the thought “I want Also, you need to get a subscription.

So I got into the world of social Hispanic dancing, which for six years has been filling my life with incredible emotions. This the world has pleasant "side effects" here are a few of them:

1. Body.

you you start to control it. Gradually movements become smoother and more beautiful, gait changes, straightens up posture, even a little weight goes away (immediately caveat, specifically lose weight not succeed, but dance three fast salsa in a row at a party, and your counter steps on the phone will squeal with joy).

2. Wardrobe.

Girls dancing shoes appear, dresses, spectacular blouses. Guys too include dandy. As a result, more beautiful and stylish people around. Still, they also meet on the dance floor clothes.

3. People.

Your circle communication expands geometrically progression - programmers, lawyers, leaders of large companies, students, pharmacists, teachers, salesmen...continue possible to infinity. All in one party, all together! For barbecues, kayaks, celebrate new year, days births and another 100,500 thousand occupations. If a someone has some kind of dance question like "where repair the car" or "how make ice cream at home just write to the general chat and at 99 percent cases the problem will be solved.

4. Social roles.

Salsa and bachate has one general principle - partner leads, and the partner follows and decorates dance. At first glance, everything is simple, but there is always one "but". Life experience, character and "cockroaches in the head" everything complicate. And the dances are put in their places — slowly but surely. And feel like you change, as yours change students are a real treat.

5. Travels.

A vacation without dancing is not a vacation. That's why as a big dance family we rush to different cities and countries. In our school dancing, special attention is paid to this – Cyprus, Turkey, Germany, Cuba, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Spain, Italy...behind every country there are a bunch dance stories and memories.

Well, yourself dancing! Parties, open-air, shooting clips, concerts - opportunities sea! Wanna dance just for yourself no one minds, but if you want open up and show everyone what you are reached please open for it all doors!

Can be many more to write, but it will be just words - Come to dance class and try!

"I am the most real log and me impossible teach to dance" - so they say 90 percent of people who after a couple months start rocking at parties and leave the dance floor last. Total - not it doesn't matter how old you are and who you work for, if the soul asks to dance, it is worth giving her a chance, and we, the coaches, just her in this help!
