Dance has been a part of human history for as long as we can remember. It has always been a way to express oneself physically and spatially, and is an important part of many festivities. There is also an art and science to dance that scholars study in academic environments. Dance scholarships are available so that students can develop a greater understanding of this age-old art form with less of a financial burden.

What colleges give scholarships for dance?

Many colleges across the country offer scholarships for valued dancers. One of the best things students seeking dance, or any other scholarships, can do is check the financial aid website of the colleges they are applying to. The earlier the better, since sometimes awards are on a “first come, first served” basis.

Does UCLA offer dance scholarships?

UCLA offers the Jean Irwin Dance Fund scholarship, which is awarded to UCLA dancing students that have a financial need.

What GPA do I need to get a full scholarship?

There is no set number on the GPA scale. In general, scholarships tend to be based on a variety of factors. As a general rule of thumb, scholarships tend to require a B average, or a 3. 0 GPA.

The Maryland Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) Aspiring Leadership Scholarship is available to dancers who enroll in dance teacher training programs.

The scholarship is valued at a minimum of $1,000 per recipient.

Mary Doctor Scholarship

The Mary Doctor of Performing Arts Scholarship Fund is awarded each year to two Charlotte High School senior students who plan to earn a bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the performing arts (e.g., music, dance, theatre, technical theater, arts management, and teaching).

Selected recipients will receive annually renewable scholarships of up to $10,000 each, determined at the discretion of the scholarship committee.

Eligible applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need, academic ability, above average ability, and a strong interest in one or more areas of the performing arts. State academic scholarship, state social scholarship to students is paid in the amount determined by the college, in accordance with the Regulations on the procedure for scholarship provision of students of GBPOU RO "TKMP", taking into account the opinion of the student council and the trade union committee of the college within the funds allocated to the college for scholarship provision of students ( scholarship fund).

The amount of state academic scholarships for students, state social scholarships for students, determined by the college, cannot be less than the standards for the formation of a scholarship fund at the expense of the budgetary allocations of the regional budget established by the Government of the Rostov Region. nine0005

Appointment and payment of state academic scholarships to students and state social scholarships to students studying full-time, including using distance learning technologies and e-learning at the expense of the regional budget.

Scholarships, being cash payments, are subdivided into:

  1. - state academic scholarship;

Applications for the appointment of state academic scholarships are considered at a meeting of the scholarship commission, which includes:

  1. - director of GBPOU RO "TKMP" - chairman of the scholarship commission;
  2. - chief accountant;
  3. - Deputy Director for Academic Affairs;
  4. - Deputy director for educational work;
  5. - heads of departments by specialty;

  8. - chairman of the trade union committee;
  9. - student council chairman;
  10. - the class teacher of the relevant group, whose students are considering the appointment of a scholarship;
  11. - head of the group whose students are being considered for the appointment of a scholarship.

The procedure for submitting candidates for a scholarship is reflected in the Minutes of the meeting of the scholarship commission in accordance with Appendix A.

Scholarships are appointed by order of the director of the college twice a year based on the results of the examination session within the funds allocated for scholarships for students (scholarship fund) for the corresponding period.

The state academic scholarship is awarded to students depending on academic success based on the results of intermediate certification at least twice a year.

A student who is awarded a state academic scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  1. - absence of "satisfactory" grade according to the results of intermediate attestation;
  2. - no academic debt.

State academic scholarship is awarded to all first-year students from the beginning of the academic year to December of the current calendar year inclusive.

Students who start studies after the end of academic leave, maternity leave, parental leave until they reach the age of three years or transferred from other organizations, the state academic scholarship is assigned after passing the first intermediate certification. nine0005

The size of the state academic scholarship for students cannot exceed 2 times the standard for the formation of a scholarship fund at the expense of the budgetary allocations of the regional budget established by the Government of the Rostov Region in relation to the state academic scholarship.

An increased state academic scholarship is awarded if the student's activities meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. a) the student receives, following the results of the intermediate attestation, for at least 2 consecutive semesters preceding the award of the scholarship, the marks "excellent" and "good" with at least 50 percent of the marks "excellent";
  2. b) recognition of a student as a winner or prize-winner of an international, all-Russian or regional olympiad, contest, competition, competition and other event aimed at identifying the educational achievements of students; nine0386
  3. c) a student receiving an award (prize) for the results of cultural, creative or sports activities within the framework of competitions, reviews, competitions and other similar events at the municipal, regional, all-Russian and international levels;

State social scholarship is awarded to students who are orphans and children left without parental care, persons from among orphans and children left without parental care, persons who have lost both parents or a single parent during the period of study, disabled children, disabled people of groups I and II, disabled since childhood, students exposed to radiation as a result of the Chernobyl disaster and other radiation disasters, as a result of nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site, students who are disabled due to a military injury or illness received during military service, and combat veterans, as well as students from among citizens who have been serving for at least three years under a contract in military positions to be replaced by soldiers, sailors, sergeants, foremen, and dismissed from military service on the grounds provided for in subparagraphs "b" - "d" paragraph 1, subparagraph "a" paragraph 2 and subparagraphs "a" - "c" of paragraph 3 of Article 51 of the Federal Law of March 28, 1998 No. 53-FZ "On military duty and military service".

State social scholarship is also awarded to students who have received state social assistance. State social scholarship for students is assigned by order of the director of the college on the submission of materials by the scholarship commission, the decisions of which are drawn up by the Minutes of the meeting of the scholarship commission in accordance with Appendix B.

Payment to students of state academic scholarships, state social scholarships is carried out once a month, within three days from the date of receipt of funds for targeted subsidies to the personal account of the institution no later than the 30th day of the current month. nine0005

The payment of state academic scholarships, state social scholarships is terminated from the date of expulsion of the student from the college.

The payment of state academic scholarships to students is terminated from the first day of the month following the month the student received the grade "satisfactory" during the passage of the intermediate certification, or the student has an academic debt.

The payment of the state social stipend is terminated from the first day of the month following the month of termination of the basis for its appointment. nine0005

Students receiving a state social scholarship have the right to apply for a state academic scholarship on a general basis.
