Dance - Dance Classes For All In Fort Collins

Dance training encourages young people to develop a positive self-image as they increase awareness of their physical being. By improving coordination skills and developing muscular awareness, dance gives children the freedom to express themselves through movement. We are committed to providing high-quality dance classes to enhance the child's overall development with nurturing teachers and a student-centered environment.

The highest educational standards are expected from all Mountain Dance faculty members. They are lifelong learners who continue to educate themselves through certification programs, teacher-training schools, conferences, and other learning opportunities.

For decades Mountain Kids has been a leader in dance education through our dance classes and programs. We believe that our success comes as a result of providing solid training and quality service, as well as our underlying belief in the strength of our organization.

We take our roles as mentors and teachers in your child’s life very seriously. Our objective is to inspire a passion for the art of dance in every child who passes through our doors. Clean + Loved by Parents [2022]

Inside: Next time you or the kids have a case of the crankies, fire up this playlist of dance music for kids and boogie away the bad mojo. (No Yo Gabba Gabba here!)

In our family, the person who makes it home first from work or school on a Friday afternoon has an important responsibility: Set everything up for our official Friday night family dance party.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Clear the living room floor of LEGOs and baby teethers,
  2. Queue up our playlist of the best kids’ dance songs, and
  3. Crank the volume.

And if you’re the last person home?

Nothing beats that feeling of walking in the door, hearing the notes of happiness reverberate through the house, and stepping into the living room to see your whole family dancing and giggling.

A family dance party is one of the best ways to spend quality time with your kids after a day apart – or if you’re just feeling cooped up indoors because of cold/rainy/sweltering weather. Plus, dancing is good for your health in lots of ways, from heart health to stress levels and more.1Yeager, S. (2012, August 6). Get into the Groove: The Benefits of Dance. Women’s Health.

20 Happy Kids’ Dance Songs That Parents Love, Too

Here’s a clean playlist of dance music for kids that’s fun for the whole family to shake their booties to. These contemporary, upbeat tunes have clean lyrics with no swear words, but unlike most dance music for kids, they’re not so kiddish that you’ll lock yourself in the bathroom til they’re over. Yo Gabba GAG ME.

Next time you and/or the kids have a bad case of the crankies, fire up a few of these songs and dance away the bad mojo. Research shows that babies and toddlers especially get a big dose of happy when moving their bodies to a rhythmic beat,2LiveScience. (2010, March 15). Babies are born to boogie, study shows. NBC News. and that mood boost goes for adults too.3Zajenkowski, M., Jankowski, K. S., & Kolata, D. (2015). Let’s dance–feel better! Mood changes following dancing in different situations. European journal of sport science, 15(7), 640–646.

You’ll tire the kids out before bedtime, plus you’ll burn a few calories yourself. Which means you can skip working out, or at least skip feeling guilty for not working out. (You’re welcome!)

And if you’re a teacher, these songs also work great for classroom dance parties or brain breaks.

1. When Can I See You Again?

by Owl City

This site is reader-supported. When you buy through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

You might recognize this one from the soundtrack of the Wreck-It Ralph movie, but it’s not sickeningly sweet like some kids’ dance music. Just good clean fun!

Switch on the sky and the stars glow for you
Go see the world ’cause it’s all so brand new
Don’t close your eyes ’cause your future’s ready to shine
It’s just a matter of time, before we learn how to fly

Let’s Be Young by Evan McHugh

This upbeat song perfectly captures the essence of childhood:

We could count the shooting stars
We could radio to Mars
Secrets in the dark
Whisper la, la, la, la
We could find a place to hide
Catching fireflies
Staying up all night
Waiting for the sunrise
Just you and I

I randomly stumbled on this little gem of a song, and my kids loved it so much it became a staple on our family dance party playlist.

5. Girl by Jukebox the Ghost

My family has listened to this song at least three times a day since we first discovered it, and we never get sick of it. I’m convinced it’s impossible not to move your body along with this song. When you want to jam out with your fam, this song’s a must for your dance party playlist.

And as time goes on and on I can feel my heart growing colder and colder
But then I see your face in the crowd, I think
How could I be starting over?
Cause when you meet someone new
It all just takes over you
And you think that you never really tried

I just wanna see you looking at me

This is a fun song to dance to, plus the lyrics deliver a great message for kids about standing up for yourself. If your kid loves this Katy Perry song, be sure to check out Firework as well.

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter

‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar

20.

Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

Kids love dancing to this song, and they’ll probably recognize it from the movie Sing.

Fair warning that this song does mention dating briefly a couple times, but the lines go right over most kids’ heads, and they’re pretty tame to boot. One line is “I go on too many dates,” and the other is “My ex-man brought his new girlfriend.”

I never miss a beat
I’m lightnin’ on my feet
And that’s what they don’t see, mmm-mmm
That’s what they don’t see, mmm-mmm

I’m dancin’ on my own (Dancin’ on my own)
I make the moves up as I go (Moves up as I go)
And that’s what they don’t know, mmm-mmm
That’s what they don’t know, mmm-mmm

HOW TO LEARN TO DANCE FOR CHILDREN 8 YEARS OLD

Igor Shevchekno | Aug 14, 2018 |

Learning to dance modern dances at home - video lessons. And, let's, everyone will start dancing together in a modern way at home? It is unlikely that there is an opportunity to resist such a temptation. There is not a single person in the world who would not reveal himself during dancing! And modern newfangled dances offer so many different unique approaches and movements!

HOW TO LEARN TO DANCE FOR CHILDREN 8 YEARS

Everyone used to go around and around and call it dancing. And now, basically, they burst into the world, demolishing everything in their path, incendiary novelties. At first, it seems to anyone that he will never be able to move like that.

But a little time passes, and he already dances faster than everyone else! And how many were uncertain words at the very beginning. In any case, every Internet user has a unique opportunity, literally, right now, to throw themselves into a dance “on the fly”, repeating the movements shown in the video. Huge burst of energy! And many will feel something that they have never felt before in their lives. nine0003

That's how they are - modern dances, for which you really don't need any instructors. Moreover, in many the talent to move beautifully lives from birth. So to speak, it is embedded in them by Mother Nature herself, with whom, oh, how dangerous it is to argue! It is better not to start these senseless disputes. And start dancing right now. Dance for girls 8 9 years old. Dancing for children

Dear mothers, I hope that my review will be useful for you and your beautiful children. Recently, I brought my princess to dance classes at Victoria Kharitonova's school. I want to clarify that this is not the first dance school we decided to go to. It turned out to be an excellent school that combines the basics of dance, gymnastic exercises, an excellent teacher (this was an important aspect for us, since we had not developed a relationship with them before) and just a good human attitude towards young children. Having studied at the dance school for about a month, I saw excellent results. And most importantly, the child is happy to run there for classes. Even when doing homework, my daughter tries to do all the exercises so as not to upset the teacher, who invests in children not only her knowledge, but also her soul. I recommend classes to all mothers in Victoria Kharitonova's dance studio, as it helps the physical and aesthetic development of children. nine0003

Inna and Larisa Zherlitsy (5 years old)

We would like to express our gratitude, respect and gratitude to our Ekaterina. She does not just teach dance and choreography. She shares her positive energy! Our children and we, together with them, receive a tremendous charge of vivacity and positive emotions. She is a true professional and an extraordinary person. We all love her very much. She brought joy to our children. Thank you very much!)))

Leah and Sofia Ryabov (5 years old)

We really like the school! The child walks with pleasure, waiting for the days when she has classes. She dances at home and teaches her younger sister. Classes are taught by a professional teacher who loves children and knows how to find the right approach to them. After six months of classes, there are tangible results. The school itself is always a pleasant environment, and a working atmosphere.

Peter, Maria and Mirra Shcherbak (6 years old)

Today I brought my son to this school for the first time. Before that, we went to a trial lesson in another studio. I looked at how Victoria teaches. I saw that there really is a warm-up and stretching, and a ferret)) the child really liked it. Said he wanted to come back. When we arrived home, Cyrus stood at the piano in the third position))) it was quite funny) On my own behalf, I want to add that I really liked Victoria. She sees all her students and corrects their mistakes or shortcomings. I can say for sure: Victoria, wait for us at the next lesson!)) As you said, there is a lot of work with my son, but I am sure that you will succeed with him.))

Tatyana and Kirill Larkin (4 years old)

Were on 04/10/16 at the "Light a Star in a Child" holiday. Oh, I liked it! The atmosphere at the school is pleasant and easy. Great attitude towards kids! During the whole holiday, the children did not sit for a minute: dancing, games, bubble shows !! They left happy, and even with gifts, balloons)))
Nice, friendly staff!) Victoria is very positive, a lot of positive energy!!! Thank you for giving our children such holidays!

Children at the age of seven or eight love to dance. But not all. After all, there are more constrained kids. And that's completely normal! You should not force them to run to the dance at the first ring of a bell specially bought for this. But you can watch videos of dancing for kids of this age with the whole family. They will amuse and erase the slightest traces of sadness, in principle! nine0003

And at the same time, if the kids themselves begin to take the initiative, unable to resist the desire to dance just like the children in the video, you can only rejoice. But don't give your advice. On videos of such a plan, everything is already shown, and sometimes it is said! So, the kid himself will be able to fervently repeat the movements of other children from this recording, learning little by little new dances.

In general, even adults can dance with their children. After all, it will be even more fun by arranging a real party at home with your loved ones! In general, everything is in the hands of the users of the World Wide Web, since these videos, the benefits of which are difficult to overestimate, can unite anyone in cheerful dances. Or maybe invite friends of your own kids to your place? And there will be a children's disco at home! With such videos, everything is possible, and if desired, even more ... Enjoy and productive viewing, ladies! nine0003

A selection of children's dance videos for children 7-8 years old:

Below is a whole selection of videos of children's dances for children 7-8 years old, which will no doubt teach you something useful and useful, or just please your soul. nine0003

What to do with the child after school hours?

How to protect him from bad company?

How and with what to captivate a dear person of school age?

Perhaps, these or similar questions are asked by almost all parents whose children have reached school age. Every mother is pleased to see the success of her child, to know that he has a useful and exciting hobby or hobby and the negative influence of the “street” is minimized or completely absent. nine0003

By enrolling your child in our children's dance school, you will make an invaluable contribution to his development. Already a few months after the start of classes in a group for schoolchildren, one can observe:

  • how children's posture changes;
  • their movements and gait become softer and more flexible;
  • there is a new company of like-minded people with whom it is interesting to spend time during and after classes;
  • children lead a healthy and active lifestyle. nine0030
