Hear, see, and feel the music

Music is an emotional experience. Whatever you listen to, you feel. By syncing your lights to a song, you can create your own personal mood music — no matter the genre.

Match light to the beat

We use specially created algorithms to ensure that each light script, which tells your lights how to react to the music, is perfectly tuned to each song — not just the beat but the overall feeling of the music.

Personalize the experience

Make every listening session your own. Customize the way your lights react to the music: change the intensity and brightness of the light effects or even their color palettes to vary the look.

Play on any device

Whether you’re relaxing on your bed with headphones or using a full-fledged sound system, you can sync your smart lights to music with any audio device.

Great functionality

This app lets me sync my Philips Hue Go lamps to music. I absolutely love this functionality. The effect looks amazing. I do tend to set the effects to ‘chill’, as I find ‘auto’ and ‘party’ change to quickly to my taste.

When I used the app to play jungle sounds (yoga type music) I was absolutely amazed by the effect.

One bug that I hope to see changed in a future update: I normally play my music on two connected HomePods. When I use Airplay from the music app, the paired HomePods are visible as an option. However, from this app I can only select one of the HomePods; the second one cannot be seen. I found a workaround (that is a bit of a hazzle) though: if I set the Airplay from the app to my AppleTV, I can then change the Airplay in the Apple Music app to switch to my paired HomePod.

Don’t hesitate to upgrade to the Premium Package

I was recently shown this app via the #AppAdvice daily recommendation. As most of my close friends know I simply love my #Phillip Hue lights and wanted to coordinate my extensive music 🎶 library with my Hue lights. I the initial free version permits limited lighting with the app, therefore if you’re a Hue light junkies like myself you will need to purchase the premium package to incorporate all your Phillips Hue lights. It’s not quite intuitive regarding the music library integration, however the app developer is very responsive and helpful and I was therefore able to achieve my desire effect, so much so that I upgrade to their Premium package, I’m truly a happy camper 🎶 💡

Great, but needs a couple improvements

This really is a great app and I really enjoy how it interacts with my hue lights. There are only a couple issues (that I don’t believe have been addressed) that hold it back from a 5 star:

1) Buying premium isn’t that bad, not that expensive... but I can’t share across devices. I bought this on my phone and would like to share it with my wife and son. But I also don’t want to pay another $5 each to do so. If there was a way to share the premium feature then that would be fantastic.

2) This is the biggest drawback to me... the app doesn’t run in the background. If I leave the app or close my phone, everything stops working. It’s not realistic to think that I’ll leave my phone on for hours while listening to music or hosting a party. If this can be addressed then that would make this app a 5 star for me.

New Philips Hue devices introduced to the global market

Signify, which partially owns the Philips brand, has introduced a line of new Philips Hue products. New products include gradient technology solutions, white-tint filament lamps, high-power smart lamps, as well as bathroom lighting and ceiling lamps. The Philips Hue app has also been updated with new dynamic scenarios. In addition, it now integrates with Spotify. This is the first deep integration of lighting and music. nine0005

In 2020, the Philips Hue Play gradient lightstrip entered the global market. And this fall, the range of devices with a gradient effect has been replenished with a novelty: the Philips Hue Play gradient light tube. Special technology allows you to combine many shades in one device that is easy to place above or below the TV. The body of the tube can be made in black or white. The company has extended the gradient technology to other Philips Hue models: table lamps and floor lamps from the Signe family in black and white, as well as the Philips Hue ambiance gradient lightstrip LED strip. Now the tape differs not only in ease of use and lighting power, but also in the ability to mix bright colors. nine0005

Philips Hue and Spotify, a digital music service, integrate light and music together. Everyone can create a unique holiday atmosphere at home: for example, while relaxing after a working day, gatherings with friends and even general cleaning. To do this, you need to synchronize the accounts of the two platforms, and then play the song from any device. The Philips Hue app extracts the metadata from the song and creates an extended lighting script. Thanks to this, the devices will respond not only to the rhythm of the music, but also to its genre and mood. You can adjust the brightness, intensity and color palette in the "Synchronization" tab. The latest version of the Philips Hue app lets you sync your lights to your music now. From October 2021, this feature will become a full part of the app. Philips Hue filament lamps available in white light can now change from warm to cool hue. During the working day, the lamps will help you focus by flooding the room with bluish light, and then relieve stress with the help of golden tones. The devices will decorate any interior - they are made in a vintage style, so they look beautiful even when turned off. In addition, the range will soon be replenished with a white E14 filament lamp. Philips Hue's range of smart colored and white lamps has been expanded to include 1100 and 1600 lumen models, allowing you to choose the right type of brightness for different activities and any part of the home. The Philips Hue range of ceiling lights adds a million shades to your living room or bedroom. Ideal for small spaces or homes with low ceilings, the Philips Hue Surimu LED panel is flush-fitting and comes in a rectangular or square shape. Laconic design allows you to visually enlarge the space. The Philips Hue Enrave ceiling light is perfect for living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens. Its body is made in black or white, and the palette includes all shades of white. The device is also available as a pendant lamp and can be positioned above a dining table or a suite. nine0005

Smart bathroom lighting will help you freshen up and get ready for the day at work, or vice versa, relax and calm down before bedtime. For a special ambiance, choose the Philips Hue Xamento chrome recessed downlights for a minimalist design or the powerful Philips Hue Devere ceiling light, which combines warm and cool whites with an indirect lighting effect. As of September 1, the updated Philips Hue app has dynamic scenarios. Now the light in one room or area can smoothly transition to other colors from a given scenario, creating a unique atmosphere. In addition, new features will be added to the Hue Script Gallery in fall 2021. With specially designed lighting scenarios lasting 24 hours, devices will change their colors and brightness over time. The first scenario, natural lighting, mimics the movement of the sun throughout the day, gradually changing the hue from warm to cold. This will allow you to tune in to the working mood and support overall well-being. The time intervals can be adjusted depending on your daily routine. nine0005

The Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box will also be updated this fall. It will now be compatible with the latest game consoles with 120Hz screen refresh rate, allowing gamers to fully immerse themselves in the game and never miss a beat. At the same time, the gadget supports 1080p and 1440p resolution. Those who prefer a sharper picture can use the block for 4K resolution with a refresh rate of up to 60Hz.
