How to do the copperhead road line dance

Copperhead Road Line Dance How To

Posted on by Holly Collins

Don’t you love a good line dance? The easier the line dance is, the more people are likely to participate in it. Copperhead Road Line Dance fits the description of both fun and easy.

Copperhead Road History

Although the creator of the line dance is unknown, a lot is known about the history of the song Copperhead Road. The song tells the tale of vices along “Big Dry Run” a road in Tennessee named Copperhead Road. During the prohibition bootleggers would hide their moonshine trade along this road. After the Vietnam war the bootlegger’s son returns to grow weed illegally along the same road.

Truth behind the Tale

Steve Earle wrote and released the song “Copperhead Road” in 1988. Although he claimed he made the story up, locals confirm that bootlegging and marijuana were run on Copperhead road in Tennessee. One local even noted that the “copperhead” refers to the copper line used in the condenser part of the still. Buying copper might tip the authorities off on illegal activities, and it would bite you like a snake…hence the name copperhead.

dance on the Moscow Ring Road cost the wedding cortege 200 thousand

July 21, 2020 21:24 Alexander Buzaladze

"Now at the banquet you will have to collect money not only for a boy and a girl, but also for a fine" - social networks are full of such wedding recommendations, where the first shots of the newlyweds' dance, too temperamental for traffic rules, appeared the day before. They literally performed it widely - on the widest auto ring road in Moscow. But the newlyweds spent their first wedding night in cramped solitary confinement.

Lezginka is a dance of the peoples of the Caucasus. It is performed both in pairs and in singles. The man, depicting an eagle, spreads his arms and circles around the woman. If you circle around the Moscow Ring Road like that, you can, at best, end up in a hospital bed. What happened here, at the 75th kilometer, has nothing to do with Lezginka. Just a group of excited amateur dancers endangered themselves and other road users.

The wedding procession came to the attention of the traffic police, who were monitoring online. The published footage clearly shows how a string of cars suddenly stops. Passengers jump out onto the roadway, clapping and dancing. A traffic jam has formed on the Moscow Ring Road.

And this video was posted on the Internet by eyewitnesses. It shows how, from an overabundance of feelings, the dancers tried to interfere with the movement of other cars. They had to be bypassed. Drivers, not related to the celebration, miraculously avoided a collision.

The path of the convoy, headed by a white Rolls-Royce with the newlyweds, was tracked and blocked almost in the center of the city. Performers of dangerous dances were taken to the department. Instead of a gala dinner, the guests, the groom and even the bride had to give explanations for five hours.

The driver of the Rolls-Royce, the one that blocked two lanes of the Moscow Ring Road at once, justified himself:

— They stopped in front of me, I also stopped. Where will I go? There were cars parked in front and to the side.

Withered boutonniere, rumpled suit - that same Rolls-Royce fiance is already awaiting a court decision:

- I can't evaluate anything, because I didn't commit any offense. I was in the car. I cannot be held responsible for the actions of other people.

He did not understand why he was detained. Then the groom's friend was brought to court:

— It's hard for me to comment on this. It's amazing what an attitude is. Nobody explained to me personally why I was detained. I spent the night in a cell not understanding why.

But the lawyer of the detainees did not deny the obvious. There were dances on the Moscow Ring Road, but no one blocked traffic:

- There was no overlap on the Moscow Ring Road, a kind of traffic jam formed. The young people came out, danced a little there, exactly fifteen seconds.

"Persons who committed an offense were identified and detained. They were taken to the territorial departments of internal affairs of the Northern District of the capital. A number of administrative materials were drawn up regarding the detainees," commented Vladimir Vasenin, head of the information and public relations department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow.

In total, ten people were detained for dancing on the Moscow Ring Road. The total fine of the cheerful company amounted to 200 thousand, 20 for each. Expensive for the dance floor, and the holiday is ruined. But this is a humane decision, because instead of a fine, there could be 15 days.
