VIDEO: 7 songs from Indian cinema that will decorate any summer disco
News
Indian Bollywood is its own special world with its own traditions, one of which is the abundance of singing and dancing in films. Most of them, to the ear of a Westerner, are rather mournful and monotonous, but there are also pleasant exceptions. Here are seven Indian songs that are able to brighten up any hot summer disco.
1
By the way, the order is from more traditional and calmer to more modern and crazy. So if you get bored on the first or third, do not rush to change the channel!
Frame from video
This movie is called "Let's dance!" (Aaja Nachle), and the main role was played by Madhuri Dixit (who sings in the film, by the way, she is not). Dixit is a famous Indian actress, and this picture, released in 2007, became her "comeback" in the cinema (before that, she had not been filmed for several years). The title track quickly became a hit, including in the West, on YouTube, if desired, you can find many pathetic attempts to perform this dance. But in order to dance like that, there must be something special, Indian in the DNA ....
One of the great things about Indian cinema is that they act there, even while dancing. The plot of this wonderfully choreographed dance from the 2008 film Beware the Beauties (Bachna Ae Haseeno) is not difficult to understand even without knowing a word of Hindi. For he is as old as the world: girls always fall for "the wrong ones." Be careful - the melody is sticky, like summer horseflies, and the main characters are just handsome and beauties! And in the end, although everyone is singing and dancing, for some reason my heart is sad ... By the way, Ranbir Kapoor (the guy in black) at the end of our selection will appear in a completely different quality!
It's almost a Bollywood version of Dirty Dancing with a modern twist. But in fact, this is an excerpt from the film "While I'm Alive" (Jab Tak Hai Jaan), the main character is a courageous sapper, and the heroine is a journalist from a Western TV channel.
The film stars (and dances in) two Bollywood superstars at once: Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film is called "Bikers 2: Real Feelings" (Dhoom 2), and the dance is somehow subtly reminiscent of the discos of the 1990s (Lambada, "Faina, faina", that's all) adjusted for Indian flavor and pomp . In the second half, by the way, a "third extra" (aka Khlyshch) appears, which noticeably enlivens what is happening.
This is a 2013 "Bikers 3" (Dhoom: 3) promotional video and it's obscenely pro-Western. This is what Bollywood has come to! Despite the fact that there is not a lot of original Indian flavor here, we could not help but include it, because there is a cut of typical Bollywood stunt tricks, which is always mesmerizing!
"Student of the Year" is a modern Indian youth film and this video proves it by 146%. The video harnesses slowly, but travels fast, and modernity and tradition are presented in equal proportions.
The movie is called "That Crazy Youth" (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) and the video is totally right! Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are some of the most in-demand young actors in India.
Beautiful Tango, take me by the hand. Come to the, come to the world. Beautiful stranger, don't want to know your name. Come to the place where the skin speaks, So don't go, if you wanna know.
