Emotes are fun animations used to convey emotions or gestures within the ESO. Elder Scrolls Online includes 172 known emotes. They are typically simple expressions, like the emote /angry which conveys the emotion anger. Others can be more complex and whimsical; for instance, the emote /cuckoo signifies a silly gesture, while the emote /lute causes the player to play a guitar-like instrument (pictured above).

To use an emote simply open the chat bar in the game and type "/" before using one of the words listed below; example, "/applaud". After entering the emote the character will become animated. If you have targeted another player while entering your emote, your character will display the emote towards that player. A common error made when using emotes is to put spaces in between multiple words, this is incorrect (ie. "applebanana" not "apple banana"). Simply use the backslash and type the words combined; example, "/facepalm".

According to a now-deleted FAQ on the game's official website, The Elder Scrolls Online may release 6 months later than scheduled on PS4 and Xbox One.

Prior to being deleted, the entry contained the following information: "The Elder Scrolls Online officially launched on PC and Mac on April 4, 2014. Although it became clear that the planned release of the console versions in June was not possible, we have done a great job. We've made the decision that it will take about six more months to make sure fans get the game they expect and deserve. For more information about the migration, see this blog post."

The link to the blog, as well as the entry itself, was promptly removed, and Bethesda, as reported in the thread on Reddit, is blocking users who spread the deleted information.

So far, there have been no official comments from the company.
