From the moment you drive onto our forested property, you will feel immediately at ease as nature envelopes you and shuts out the rest of the world!
Dinner Parties
Ideally suited for indoor private functions, our spacious, barn wood, modern Event Hall with tall, arching ceilings and a breathtaking stone fireplace will set the mood for a festive time. Or if you prefer to celebrate the holidays in the great outdoors, The Landing, our covered pavilion space (complete with heaters) may be your party space of choice.
Pricing* for each space includes:
- State-of-the-art audiovisual equipment gives you the option of adding slideshows or videos to your celebration, in either space.
- Set-up, tables, chairs, linens and AV equipment.
Covered Deck
Finally, the Bistro’s Covered Deck is also available to reserve for those who may want a seated dinner (10 – 20 people), with the added benefit of privacy and beautiful views.
Patio or Fire Pit Add-On Reservations
After you and your guests finish dinner, you could add on the option to continue the celebration by exclusively reserving the Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro patio or the fire pit for a cozy and festive time, including roasting s’mores!

The Bistro’s culinary team turns their complete attention to your holiday affair, creating unique dishes with an Appalachian culinary flair.

Check-in Procedures -
Dancing Bear Lodge is located at 86 Mountain Range Dr Whittier, NC 28789. If you are using Google maps, put the entire address in the search. If you do not include the town name and zip code, it will not give you correct directions.
Check-in time is 4 pm, and check-out time is 10 am. This gives our cleaning and sanitation team enough time to prepare the cabin for your arrival. We strive to exceed your expectations and provide the cleanest home possible for you so that you can walk in and immediately relax when you arrive.
If our team finishes early, we will be sure to contact you to accommodate an early arrival.
I will send your door code in a separate email on the morning of your reservation so that you have a seamless check-in. For all of our guest's security, your door code will be unique to you and will only be active from the time of your check-in until the time that you check out.

Check-Out Procedures -
We strive to provide an exceptional experience for you and your guests. Our sanitation team cleaned your cabin before your arrival and after your departure. We do not expect you to clean before your departure; we only ask that you leave everything in good condition so that excessive cleaning will not be necessary.
- You do not need to strip the beds.
- Please leave used bathroom linens on the floors in the bathrooms.
- Please return any furniture that may have been moved to its original location.
If you don't mind helping us out with these items, that would be fantastic! THANK YOU again for being such an amazing guest.

Smoking Policy -
Our Cabin is strictly non-smoking inside and outside. This applies to all types of smoking. If it is discovered that anyone at Dancing Bear Lodge smokes on the property during your stay, the guest who made the reservation will be charged a $750 fee.

For the comfort of our guests, extra guests past the maximum occupancy(12 guests) are not allowed.

Party Policy -
Parties are NOT allowed at Dancing Bear Lodge. If you have a party your booking may be canceled at the owner's discretion and you will not receive a refund for any additional days that you have booked. Additionally, if you booked through Airbnb parties are against the Terms Of Service(Which means that you can potentially be removed from the platform).

Pet Policy -
We love pets and have two dogs ourselves however, due to potential damage to our cabin we do not allow pets of any kind at Dancing Bear Lodge. If you or anyone in your party brings a pet there will be an extra cleaning fee of $750 charged to the guest who made the reservation.

BBQ/Deck Rules -
Dancing Bear Lodge offers a BBQ on the upper deck. Please use caution when using the BBQ. There are BBQ supplies(spatulas, scraper, thongs, etc) in the upper kitchen for your use. Make sure to enjoy the view while you BBQ!

Hot Tub Rules -
Dancing Bear Lodge has a hot tub with amazing views of the mountains. Please follow these rules to make sure that you can enjoy the hot tub and not accidentally injure anyone in your group during your stay.
When in use -
Wear proper swimwear. Your everyday clothes will always have residual detergent from laundering.
This will cause foaming in the hot tub.
Please shower every time before you enter the hot tub.
No food or drink in the hot tub.
Any floating chemical dispensers should always remain in the hot tub.
All children under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
Please remove the cover all the way before entering the hot tub.
Do not use the hot tub if you are pregnant.
Do not sit or stand on the hot tub cover. It can break and you will be charged to replace it if it is broken from sitting or standing on it.

Parking -
There is parking for 3 cars. One covered spot under next to the front door, and one uncovered spot on either side of the cabin.

Trash -
Please put all garbage in the trash cans near the porch between the house and the fire pit. All trash needs to be bagged and tied up. The lids need to be closed to prevent any animals from getting into the trash cans.
The trash cans are emptied once per week by a trash service.

Laundry -
Dancing Bear Lodge has a full-sized washer and dryer that you are welcome to use. Laundry pods are provided and kept near the washing machine.

Quiet Times -
Quiet time starts at 10 pm and ends at 6 am. You are far enough away from any neighbors that this should not be an issue, please be respectful of your neighbors.

Damages -
We understand that sometimes things break and people have accidents. Please report any damages as soon as they happen so that we can have replacement items sent for you and the future guests. You will be charged for large amounts of damage or obviously abuse/neglect of our family's property.

Off Limit Areas -
There is an owner's closet in the downstairs bathroom.
It is locked, please do not try to open it as doing so will cause damage.
The area with the fire pit is for you to enjoy. Our property ends at the privacy trees planted near the fire pit area.

Deposit Policy -
A refundable deposit of $500 is charged at booking. This deposit is returned after your stay assuming no damage is done to the any property.
