The history of the creation of the program, which started on the air of the Rossiya channel, is based on the similar British show Strictly Come Dancing. The program mainly represents the format of ballroom dancing, however, sometimes the numbers presented by the participants contain elements of other styles and directions of choreography.
The concept of the project is that one of the partners of the couple is a professional, and the other is a media person who has no dance experience. During the releases, "amateurs" learn a dance related to the European or Latin American program.
For the performance choreographers, together with directors, come up with a plot, a story, which makes the performances more spectacular and exciting. After the contestants demonstrate their abilities, the jury evaluates, commenting on the pair's mistakes or merits.
At the end of the release, viewers join the voting for their favorite participants.
