How To Twerk And Whine

Twerking Hip Shake Fitness /

Learning how to twerk and whine is easy when you’ve got babes like Nicole and Zen! They’re two of our amazing instructors and they’ll teach you a thing or two about twerking your booty and whining your hips.

Are you ready to twerk your booty and whine your hips? It take a little bit of practice to get your body used to it, but when you learn how to twerk and whine, you’ll be able to bust out these moves anywhere you go! I’m a big fan of twerk dance and whining because they are two moves that work on more than just one body part. Not only do you workout your glutes when you twerk, you also workout your legs and your back muscles. Whining not only works on your hips, but also works on your core and legs too. These are two versatile and fun moves that you can add to your fitness routine anytime. Turn on your fave jam and twerk it out or whine it down. So who’s ready to learn how to twerk and whine with us? Show off your twerk & whine on instagram by using #hsfteam and tag us @hipshakefitness on your posts so we can give you some love?

Let’s start with the basic twerk move. Everytime I watch this video, I’m reminded of my first twerk class with Nicole and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. Own your booty and be proud of it, then pop it up and try to reach the back of your head. Watch this tutorial as many times as you need and you’ll be a twerk queen too.

Whining your hips means hitting all directions with your hips. Adding the presentation means you have to add some arm movement. I know sometimes my brain explodes when I try to match movements with two body parts. The trick is to master one first and then add the second!

Unleash your feminine expression by learning to dance! We’ve got online dance classes that empower women on our virtual dance studio. Tone N Twerk is a class starts with a toning routine that tightens your glutes and ends with a fun twerk dance.  Get a FREE Trial Today! JOIN HERE.

This twerk move is the basic twerk but with levels. So if you’ve mastered the basic twerk above, the only thing you need to add is squatting up and down. Everytime you hit either your highest or lowest squat, pop your booty and then contract during the transition. Start slow and then hit that fast twerk bb.

Want more squats? You got it. This is definitely a fun squat move if I’ve ever seen one. Essentially, you’ll be whining your hips as slow or as fast as you can and then adding a squat up and down. For this move, you will start where you’re comfortable in a squat and then go down as low as you can go.

Try a twerk dance class or a dancehall workout with us. You can access classes like Tone N Twerk with Nicole or Dancehall Jam with Zen today. These are just some of the dance workouts in our studio, babe. We’ve got 200+ fierce and feminine dance classes available for you online anytime anywhere. The Dance Open Festival, which began last week, presented the first foreign company of its program: the youth troupe of the Israeli Batsheva played on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater "The Virus of Naarin", staged by Ohad Naarin based on the play "Insulting the Public" by Peter Handke. Narrated by Tatyana Kuznetsova.

In the 16th year of its life, Dance Open finally got rid of the reputation of a pedagogical and entertaining event that supplies the local public and visiting neophyte practitioners with the main St. Petersburg product - classical dance. Expanding its horizons to contemporary ballet and then to contemporary dance, the festival won the position of the main newsmaker of the St. Petersburg spring. This year on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Dance Open presents the latest ballets from two of the best regional theaters in Russia - Yekaterinburg and Perm, and three import companies with the most serious, but not quite ballet reputations. First in line was the famous Batsheva, the oldest of the countless contemporary dance companies that Israel is rightfully proud of.

In 2001, its director and internationally renowned choreographer, Ohad Naharin, staged an hour-long play "Virus", adapting a play by Peter Handke written back in the mid-1960s into a dance style. The chief enfant terrible of Austria overthrew everything he could in it: the traditional theatre, the traditional play, the relations between the public and the actors, the acting profession itself, social roles, social relationships. Handke's text in "The Virus of Naarin" is spoken by a dancer hiding behind an official costume (this is a dummy). The artist stands on a low, gray wall covering the backdrop, which the other participants in the performance, in their free time from dancing, cover with drawings, slogans, and curses - so that it turns into a collective art object: there is no time to read what is written. Having rendered the visual text meaningless in this way, Naarin carefully destroys the dance text as well. It is impossible for him to calculate the logic of action, to predict what will grow out of what and what will follow what. Of course, there are no characters - one and a half dozen dancers are unified by the same clothes (white swimsuit, black stockings to the groin), and the connection between them is defiantly destroyed.

To the meditative whining, squeaking, tinkling of Karni Postel's music and Arabic folk melodies spiced with martial percussion, Ohad Naarin composes the most complex composition, pretending to be complete chaos. The choreographer throws the word, pantomime, reflex twitching and full static into one cauldron. Dance abundantly adds: brief plastic cries of soloists, which seem to be spontaneous improvisations, he mixes with the motor skills of synchronized corps de ballet dances, breaking this antithesis with whimsically spread, heaped ensembles (in different parts of the stage, different groups of artists perform different steps in different angles, tempos and with different amplitudes) .

Naarin's vocabulary is no less complex, aggravated by his relatively recent invention - the "gaga" method, about which it is difficult to understand something without trying it on yourself. Those who have tested assure that this is not the language of dance, not a technique, not a style, but something that allows you to realize the secret possibilities of the human body with a modest participation of the mind. The youth of Batsheva "got out" in full measure: the energy of movements - from simple trampling to ecstatic ejection of limbs from the joints - seems superhuman.

The performance ends with a gigantic monologue, in which compliments to the audience (“You are talented, dazzling, unique!”) are drowned in much more energetic curses (translator Viktor Toporov took full advantage of the richness of the Russian language: from primitive “seniles”, “sluts” and “morons dressed up" to multi-part exquisite curses). In the 1960s, "Insulting the Public" provoked an immediate response from the audience, which turned the audience into full participants in the performance. This, alas, is not expected in our politically correct times. However, in Aleksandrinka there was a spectator who maintained a dialogue with the stage. And he was offended not by Handka, but by the choreographer with his avant-garde troubles. The middle-aged, portly uncle groaned, sighed, clapped defiantly (especially violently when the artists began to beat their buttocks with their heels) and said: "They insult me, and I insult them!" A neighbor on the stalls sent a brawler to the Mariinsky. "That's where I'm at," he declared, and proudly walked off without waiting for the purely verbal final "shit" from the stage.

On April 5, 2019, a competition of dance groups was held as part of the annual student talent festival "New Spring". He gathered talented dancers in 10 nominations. Participants showed ballet, complex lifts, dancehall, hip-hop, Spanish dances and tap dancing. They lived entire stories on stage.

Dmitry Sitsukov , choreographer, head of the Antares dance group: “I have a good impression of the competition, for the first time I was invited to judge. There are a lot of teams, a lot of really cool numbers that could seriously compete with other universities. I wish the participants next year to be even better than this one! Defeat everyone, go out - and only forward" .

Dance group "Mint", winners in the nomination "Street dances. Ensembles": “We are very happy and proud of ourselves! We have invested so much effort, and when it all pays off, it's insanely nice. And the secret of success is simple: train more, don’t whine, give all your emotions and strength. The most important thing is the idea of the room. Huge thanks to our choreographers!”
