2003, Drama, Foreign, Canada

If you are a fan of the dance genre, then the film The Last Dance will definitely appeal to you, especially since Patrick Swayze plays the main role. The story tells the viewer about a dance group where an unexpected and difficult tragedy for the dancers occurred - the head of the ensemble died, even before the world premiere of the production. Former members of the troupe Travis, Max and Krissa come to the aid of the artists. nine0004

The dancers decide to take a risk no matter what. They take on the production of a unique and grandiose show that they already worked on seven years ago. Then they were forced to stop working on this composition, but now life gives them a new chance to realize their desires. On the way to their dream, they will have to overcome a lot, but the dream is worth fighting for, isn't it? Not paying attention to the fact that a difficult, sometimes tense relationship arises between a pair of main dancers, during the dance they forget about this, about their past, which constantly reminds them of themselves. Life gave them the opportunity to resurrect not only the production, but also the former feelings between each other. When they start dancing, everything around disappears, nothing exists, there is only a dance, insanely emotional, beautiful and sensual. nine0004

Patrick Swayze, known to everyone from Dirty Dancing, only reaffirms how great a dancer he is. Interestingly, his partner in the film was Lisa Niemi, Patrick's wife in real life. She also acted as the director of this picture. Together they made a wonderful and insanely believable game, because their relationship is real, and not just on-screen. This gives the picture an additional zest and arouses great interest among the audience.

Watch the film The Last Dance is definitely worth it. He draws you into his creative atmosphere, it is impossible not to be imbued with it. Here you will see the harmony of movements and music, saturated with strong feelings, make sure that anything can be conveyed through dance. The film is simply amazing. Watching the last dance of good quality online is a pleasure, do not miss this opportunity. nine0004

Why you should watch Netflix's "The Last Dance"

Entertainment

Covering this year's biggest sports documentary and trying to instill in you a love of basketball and Michael Jordan.

Netflix

One of the best sports documentaries

Sports documentaries on Netflix have long been eligible for a separate category on the site. The studio shoots a lot of original sports content. As an example, a series about the English Sunderland, which turned the life of the club into a reality show for a couple of seasons. But in the case of The Last Dance, Netflix is not acting alone as the creators of the material, but in collaboration with the ESPN+ channel, and at the same time they are its distributors around the world.

The series is about the Chicago Bulls led by Michael Jordan in season 1997/1998. The great team of the decade, which is on the verge of going "into the sunset." But the story here is not only about that season, the authors competently bring us to it with the help of backstory, previously untold stories and biographies of the main characters, so that we realize all the greatness of Jordan and the Bulls.

The creators use both material filmed in our time with the memoirs of actors, and archival chronicle ESPN, many episodes of which are published for the first time. In general, by the intensity that the series creates, at times you may get the impression that this is an art project. But cinematic techniques in the presentation of the story do not look like something superfluous. So even if you are skeptical about documentary films and are afraid to fall asleep from boredom, this does not threaten you here. Of course, provided that you care about basketball. But even in this case, we do not recommend skipping The Last Dance. When was the last time you heard about the docu-sports series that was being talked about everywhere? In our memory, this is the first such case. And it's all well-deserved. nine0004

Jordan Revisited

In the US, The Last Dance is being hailed as the only hope of introducing Millennials to Michael Jordan. But even if you're not Gen Y, it's never too late to discover (or brush up on) a basketball legend. Especially if only the inscription on your sneakers tells you about Jordan. About them, by the way, in the series (at least in its first part) is practically not mentioned. But here a detailed biography of the player is told, and from his own words all the mental anguish that he experienced is described. In addition, a "portrait" of Jordan on the floor is also given. We really see where his greatness lies. The athlete, who turned every game into a drama, regularly set records thanks to his efforts and was a leader for his partners, simply could not be forgotten. nine0004

But don't think that the entire series is devoted exclusively to the praise of Michael Jordan. In general, we advise you to discard the idea that The Last Dance is exclusively about him. Just the legendary 23rd number acts as the main character. And he, like any well-written character, has his flaws. In some episodes, we see Jordan as a somewhat selfish person who often quarrels with partners, sometimes boycotts management decisions and snaps at journalists. But that's the whole Michael Jordan. A lively person with a complex character and outstanding qualities. nine0004

Detailed approach to the whole team

In general, the best way to see the prioritization of the series can be seen on its official poster. A row of Bulls players and head coach with Michael Jordan in the foreground. And this, again, is indeed a series not only about Jordan. Here is the story of the revelry of the most outrageous basketball player in the history of the league, Dennis Rodman, and the storyline of Scotty Pippen (an equally important figure in that Chicago), as well as a story about the relationship between Phil Jackson, the head coach of that team, and manager Jerry Krause. In a word, a whole almanac about the "Bulls" of the nineties. nine0004

Here you can see how the team fought against the fundamentally objectionable "Detroit", and how the players turned from "cocaine party-goers" into the legends of their sport. This is just a small part of what we have (so far) been told. The series is just approaching its "equator", and we are sure that the creators still have something to show. Shots from the dressing room, from parties, personal conversations and matches create an atmosphere of complete immersion in the life of the team. At some point, you even get the impression that the viewer is somewhere nearby, and even knowing how the story will develop further, you still want to empathize with every action of the team. While watching, we gradually realize what is the phenomenon of popularity and at the same time the charm of that Bulls. nine0004

An opportunity to remember the classic NBA of the 90s

Sports do not stand still. Especially when it's commercial. The NBA is an example of a commercial league and goes through many changes along with trends and the market. And we're not even talking about salaries. Music during the release of the players, what they are wearing, ways to advertise. All this has understandably changed in more than twenty years. “Puffy” sweatpants and loose-fitting windbreakers when entering the parquet - this is what the NBA did not go beyond the nineties. As well as the music, organic for that era, and the appearance of the pre-match show. nine0004

The NBA in the nineties - in general, this is exactly what the acquaintance of the Russian audience with American basketball began with. Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal - it was in the nineties that the boom of stars in the NBA fell, and therefore basketball was so popularized. So if you caught this time, you can nostalgic about how matches were recorded on cassettes and passed from hand to hand, as well as about the abundance of people in baseball caps with the Bulls logo even in our country. Let's not be snobs and say that now the league is degrading (perhaps it's even the other way around), but the nineties are definitely one of the best eras in the history of the NBA. "The Last Dance" makes it possible to get acquainted with it. nine0004

A reason to love basketball

And finally, let's come to the point for those who are indifferent to basketball.
