How to make a armor stand dance

Redstone Chibi Builds: Armor Stand Theater | by Nightmare notes

Some of the little things that can be done with redstone can be pretty entertaining. Why not decorate it a little and make something out of it. Introducing the dancing armor theater.

We’ll be building the dancing armor stands with a stage surrounding the mechanical work. This doesn't include the giant building but it can be set up were ever you want. Putting in a little extra fun to a redstone trick I’ve seen done a few times. Here’s a list of item names if you’re having trouble finding some of the parts.

Armor stand, oak wood planks, redstone torch, redstone dust, redstone comparator, oak wood stairs, oak wood slab, oak wood trap door, lantern, red wool, red banner, wither skeleton skull, netherite chestplate, netherite leggings, netherite boots, poppy, stone sword.

If you’re looking for something to chuckle at for the end of this build, put an ender dragon skull on one of them. I find it kind of funny.

Start off the build with a 15X6 rectangle of oak planks. Inside of that rectangle, put 6 planks inside. Leaving 1 block of space from the front of the build and 1 block of space between each plank.

Here’s where the redstone comes in. Put an armor stand on each of those solo planks you just placed a moment ago. The redstone torches go on the front of those planks. Redstone dust is placed in between the armor stands and their respective torches. Comparators are going to be what keeps the armor stands moving. Place half of them behind the armor stands so that only 1 point is up against the stand. The other half is placed with the 2 points against the redstone powder between the stands. Another row of redstone powder behind the comparators starts the machine.

While the armor stands start to dance, you can put a lid on it all with the oak wood slabs. Place oak wood stairs along the front of the build.

Now it’s time to start the curtain call. On either side of the build, place oak fences 5 blocks tall. Go inward twice and up once again before connecting the two sides. Take oak wood trap doors and place them under the fence line before putting and extra fence on the inside of either side of the tallest line. A lantern goes underneath those fence pieces.

Red banners are placed along the fence line. Another row of banners is put on the trap doors for a layering effect. Followed by placing three banners down either side were the fence starts.

Go to the back of the build with red wool blocks and start a sort of zig-zag pattern over the oak slabs 2 blocks at the far back and 1 towards the front. The last parts on either side should be 1 block closer to the front than the rest. Stack that pattern to 4 blocks tall with wood slabs on top. More wool is placed in another zig-zag pattern in front of the far back pattern. This pattern is 2 blocks tall from the top of the build and also has oak slabs on top of it.

Light up the stage with more lanterns strategically placed in the folds of wool. Sort of like well-hidden spotlights. Once the lighting is to your taste, dress the armor stands with wither skeleton skulls and armor. Add the flowers and swords as props and your actors are ready to shine. I hope you find this build entertaining. Thanks for reading :)

Natural generation[]

Two armor stands are found in each taiga village outdoor armory, one equipped with an iron helmet, the other with an iron chestplate.

All different poses of armor stand.

Players can use armor stands to hold armor, mob heads, carved pumpkins, and elytra. Commands can be used to give them other items. The stand does not have a GUI, so players interact with it directly. Armor stands are also able to be placed in different orientations, similar to banners or signs. Armor stands are entities, allowing them to be pushed by pistons, moved by flowing water, pulled with fishing rods, and bounced by slime blocks.

Using armor on the stand places the armor if done on a bare spot. Conversely, clicking on armor with a bare hand removes the armor and places it in the highlighted hot-bar slot. It is not possible to take or place items from the armor stand's hands unless playing on Bedrock Edition.

Armor, mob heads, or carved pumpkins can be automatically placed on armor stands with a dispenser.

Armor stands can be customized further to have arms, pose, disobey gravity, dual wield and other things by summoning them using /summon with NBT tags.

In maps heavily using command blocks, armor stands can be used to keep scoreboard objectives that are 'global' to the map, run commands, etc.

In Bedrock Edition, the pose of the armor stand can be changed by interacting with the armor stand (or pressing the Pose button on mobile devices) while sneaking, or by using a redstone signal. There are 13 possible poses. Armor stands can also hold items by interacting with the armor stand (or pressing the Equip button on mobile devices) while holding an item that cannot be worn.

Below are the poses:
No. Namespace ID Redstone power
0 animation. armor_stand.default_pose 0
1 animation.armor_stand.no_pose 1
2 animation.armor_stand.solemn_pose 2
3 animation.armor_stand.athena_pose 3
4 animation.armor_stand.brandish_pose 4
5 animation.armor_stand.honor_pose 5
6 animation.armor_stand.entertain_pose 6
7 animation.armor_stand.salute_pose 7

Because armor stands are entities, they obey gravity, allowing them to fall and rest on non-full blocks such as enchanting tables, snow layers and slabs.

Any armor on the stand drops when the stand is broken. Armor stands can display enchanted and all forms of dyed armor. The effects of most enchanted armor have no effect when on an armor stand, with three exceptions:

  • Frost Walker creates frosted ice blocks on water as usual if an armor stand is pushed with a piston.
  • Depth Strider slows the movement of the armor stand when being pushed with water.
  • A player may take damage from hitting an armor stand that holds armor enchanted with Thorns.

Armor stands are not damaged by cacti but can be broken by arrows. An armor stand destroyed by an explosion or a firework does not drop as an item. Armor stands in water and lava at the same time are not consumed by the lava.

In Bedrock Edition, armor stands can be affected by status effects. They can be 'killed' by Harming and Decay splash/lingering potions, lava, fire, and campfires, and they play the player death sound and fall to their side and disappear, yielding no armor stand item. If an armor stand is equipped with an item or armor, that item or armor is considered as "naturally-spawned equipment" with an 8.5% chance of dropping when the armor stand "dies" from the Instant Damage or the Wither status effect. If the dropped item is any form of weapon, tool or armor, it drops in a badly damaged state because the game considers it as "naturally-spawned equipment".[1]

The stand wobbles slightly when being hit by the player.

In Java Edition, it is possible to create an armor stand with arms using the /summon command. It is also possible to change an armor stand without arms into a stand with arms by using the /data command. The commands are as follows:

  • /data merge entity @e[type=armor_stand,sort=nearest,limit=1] {ShowArms:1}, which will change the nearest armor stand into an armor stand with arms.
  • /summon minecraft:armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {ShowArms:1}, which will summon a new armor stand with arms shown.
  • /summon armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {Rotation:[0.0f]}, which will summon a new armor stand that will face your desired direction (you have to change the "0.0f" to other numbers or else it will face the same way as a default armor stand, such as "90.0f" or "180.0f").

Issues relating to "Armor Stand" are maintained on the bug tracker. Report issues there.

        • Equipping armor stands with certain blocks and items can cause rendering glitches. According to Searge this is due to transparent rendering on entities not yet being supported. [4][5]
        • Bedrock Edition has a version exclusive armor stand model, which includes posable arms.
        • Using redstone to change the stands reverse the poses, starting with the Can-can pose first.
        • Placing the stand within three powered redstone dust always changes its pose to the Honor pose. Repeaters also switch the stand to the honor pose if not set four blocks from one.
        • Using external tools, armor stand spawners can be placed.
        • Secret signatures for JAPPA and Searge can be found at the bottom of the Armor Stand’s texture.

        Armor stand

        Armor Stand

        Armor Stand

        Minecraft Armor Stand ID: 416.

        NID: armor_stand.

Armor Stand is the English name for an armor stand in Minecraft. It can also be called a hanger, armor rack or armor rack.

        Command: /give PlayerName armor_stand.

Stop storing armor in chests. For this purpose, armor stands are provided, which appeared in Minecraft in version 1.8 (namely, in August 2014). But the possibilities of racks are not limited only by armor - instead of a helmet, you can hang both a pumpkin and heads. And, if you make an armor stand with hands, then you can put a sword or an ax in your right hand. And why not a weapon rack? You can install the hanger in one of eight positions, or even put it in a trolley, while it will retain all its functionality. nine0005 Two armor stands - the first with armor, the second without.

        Armor Rack: Commands

In this section, we do not offer to download Minecraft, where there is an armor rack. And just consider three commands that allow you to get these devices (from Minecraft 1.8). But first, let's demonstrate on the screen, where from left to right:

        1. An ordinary hanger.
        2. Armor stand with two arms.
        3. Small stand.
        4. Small handstand. nine0028
Three "custom" armor stands can be obtained by teams.

It remains to hang the armor on the racks from the top picture to make it convenient, beautiful and "human":

The same racks, but with armor and heads.

As for the commands, they may seem somewhat cumbersome:

        • it is easy to make a standard stand or use the command in creative:
          /give Player Nickname armor_stand;
        • two-arm stance:
          /summon armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {ShowArms:1}; nine0028
        • small stand:
          /summon armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {Small:1};
        • small arm stand:
          /summon armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {Small:1,ShowArms:1}.

Making an armor stand in Minecraft is easy - you need one stone slab and six sticks. You can find the crafting recipe here:

To make a hanger you need:

        Stone Slab

        1 pc

        6 pcs.

Armor stands can hang not only armor and head, but also a pumpkin and in general any item worn by the player.

Racks with different armor, pumpkin, head, sword and axe.

How to make a weapon rack in Minecraft? In the image above, you can see that a sword or an ax can be put into the right hand of the stance, which is obtained using the command. Thus turning it into a weapon rack. Moreover, at the racks (in the screenshot) you can change the positions of the hands, including those that hold weapons. This is shown in another picture:

Racks with weapons and altered hand positions.

There are NBT tags for changing the positions of the hands, body and head. They are also available for invisible rack, no base plate, no gravity. But this is another, not at all small, story.

What else is useful in Minecraft

You can list all the accessories that are needed in Minecraft for a long time. Armor stands are an interesting and handy entity that adds extra variety to the game.
