Burning, passionate, eternal tango

Tango with drums

Tango is an old Argentine folk dance of African origin and Nigerian roots. In the language of the Ibibio people, tango meant " dance to the sound of a drum" . And only then, many centuries later, tango crossed the ocean and was reborn in Argentina. Initially, the dance was performed by men in dubious establishments. There, any experimentation with dance moves was forgivable, regardless of good or bad taste, ambiguity or even outright obscenity. And tango has always been on the verge of decency.

One step closer to a woman

The most beautiful step was made by dancing when men began to dance it with women. Dancing against each other, when the man's right hand touches the partner's back, was a little too much ... and then there was a dance in which there is a close embrace, cheek to cheek, chest to chest ...

Tango turned out to be viable, like love itself, and very quickly escaped not only beyond the ports and streets of the poor neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, but also beyond the borders of Argentina. At the beginning of the 20th century, tango quickly burst into Paris and from there spread throughout the world. And what started here! The Pope cursed the dance, the Queen of England stamped her feet: "I won't dance THIS!" And in Russia at 19In the year 14, a decree of the Minister of Public Education appeared, prohibiting even the very mention of "a dance called tango that has become widespread. "

But the forbidden fruit is sweet. Played gramophone records with "Cumparsita" by Rodriguez, "Champagne Splashes", "Burnt Sun" were passed from hand to hand. Sweet melodies by Oscar Strok sounded, soulful tango performed by Vadim Kozin, Petr Leshchenko, Konstantin Sokolsky, Alexander Vertinsky...

The 1930s-1950s became the "golden age" of tango. Many ensembles arose, which included outstanding composers and performers: Annibal Troilo, Osvaldo Pugliese, the tango killer Astor Piazzolla and, of course, the most famous tangero - Carlos Gardel. His birthday on December 11 is also considered the birthday of tango. And this is one of the most wonderful dance holidays.

Argentine tango. Classic

Argentine tango combines many different styles that have developed in different regions of Argentina and Uruguay. According to the type of music, tango is divided into several types: tango, waltz (tango waltz), milonga, cangengue, tango electronico and alternative tango (transformed music of other styles).

Tango Salon. Refinement

Tango Salon is characterized by a more open position of the dancers in a pair compared to the "close hug". This space allows for more varied steps, figures, turns and poses to be danced. This is a more refined and sophisticated style of tango performance based on improvisation, leading and following.

Tango Liso. Steps

Tango Liso is very similar to simple steps, walking or walking (caminada) as they are called in tango. This style uses only the most basic tango steps and figures, not many turns, figures and spins.

Tango Nuevo. Experiments

Tango Nuevo is an invention of the young generation of dancers in terms of the originality of the steps. They strive to find their own unique style in tango, inventing original rotations with interlacing and extension of the legs, exquisite poses and supports. Tango Nuevo requires a lot of space to perform, it is often danced in shows and never in milongas. Moreover, it is simply considered bad form to dance complex figures next to couples dancing milonguero.

Tango Fantasy. Performance

Tango Fantasia is a staged tango performed in a show for the audience. This is a show in which steps, character and feelings are dictated by music and director. The tango "fantasy" is characterized by a virtuoso performance technique, spectacular movements and figures.

Hot Finnish tango

The style originated in Finland in the mid-1940s. Finnish tango gained the greatest popularity after the appearance of Unto Mononen's musical composition "Fairytaleland". The most famous performers of Finnish tango are Olavi Virta, Reio Taipale, Veikko Tuomi.

Milonga. Even in funeral processions

The word "milonga" has several meanings: the original ("many words or a long story"), "dance" and "a public place where you can dance."

In the 1870s, the milonga meeting became a mass fad. In 1883, Ventura Lynch wrote: “On the outskirts of the city, the milonga is so common that it is danced everywhere: it can be heard performed to the music of guitars, accordions, combs and paper, and street musicians play it with an orchestra of flute, harp and violin. It is also danced in cheap casinos around the markets in September 11 and Constitution squares, during other dance events and funeral processions.

The milongas are still popular today. But they need to be prepared. Professionals advise going to the milonga only when you feel that you have already achieved the coordination of your movements with the music. For the key to harmonious dancing is not only to enjoy yourself, but also to give no less pleasure to your partner.

Fascinating ballroom tango

Sports dance participating in international competitions and included in the European program. The difference from the Argentine tango is a more complex composition, but the lack of improvisation. All movements correspond to certain rules, starting with the position of the head, the body of the body and ending with the step elements. Ballroom tango is also distinguished from Argentinean by the rhythm of the melody - in the rhythm of ballroom tango there are percussion instruments, which adds more clarity, rigidity, and temperament to it. Argentine tango is more fluid and melodic. And less passionate.

Tangomania

More recently, tango has been treated as a retro dance that has long outlived its time. But today tango is returning to us again in the original style in which it was danced and danced in Argentina. This is a new wave of tangomania, a new direction of neo-romanticism, when a man and a woman rediscover the charm and pleasure of dancing together. Tango fascinates everyone who touches it.

And this is how an outstanding contemporary Argentine coach and dancer talks about his favorite tango Ernesto Carmona:

- You can dance with great emotional power with a person from any country and you won't know where he is from. Tango is pure democracy: you can share it with a middle-class man, with a poor man, with a king or with a murderer with the same passion. You can dance without knowing what he does in life. You dance passionately. You feel.

Novosibirsk filmed a video with sensual dances and eternal summer, June 18, 2021 | NHS

Elizaveta Filatova left the group two years ago, and completed her project this February

dancing and eternal summer to the song "Friends".

The idea of the clip belongs to the whole group. Elizaveta Filatova told the NGS journalist that she always wanted to combine music and dance:

- This is a huge field for creativity. The guys from the Action dance laboratory - Alina Novikova and Denis Bozhkov - staged a sensual dance specially for our song, expressing the idea of the video as much as possible. We managed to convey the atmosphere of youth and eternal summer. We write the music ourselves. Sometimes I compose the basis, and the band's musicians Igor Vagner and Ivan Filatov create the arrangements. Sometimes it's the other way around: I compose vocal parts based on ready-made musical material. I write texts.

This clip was filmed during the day in a Novosibirsk photo studio in May. The preparation took the most time.

— We talked a lot with the director of photography and editor Denis Chernikov and figured out how to make the video dynamic, beautiful and interesting. Denis gathered a huge team of very ideological guys, with whom it was pleasant and easy to work, - explains the soloist of the group.

Since the shooting took place in May, and the team wanted to convey the summer atmosphere as much as possible, they decided to add more indoor plants to the studio space. For this, plants were specially transported from the College of Music to the studio on the Gazelle.
