Great Bolgar
Bolgar, founded in the 9th-10th centuries, was one of the largest cities of the Golden Horde. Today, the ancient settlement on the banks of the Volga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can see the ruins of the Cathedral Mosque and the Eastern Mausoleum, the White Mosque and the Black Chamber of the 14th century.
The Bulgarian Museum-Reserve, which houses a 500-kilogram Koran, invites you on excursions to the main sights of the Great Bolgar.

Ulyanovsk
The city is nestled on the banks of the Volga and its right tributary, the Sviyaga. Ulyanovsk is the center of the aircraft and automotive industry in Russia, the birthplace of Lenin and the writer Ivan Goncharov.

Yuryevskaya Cave
An amazing natural attraction - the largest cave in Tatarstan, the only one accessible to tourists. The length of the underground passages is about a thousand meters.
Yuryevskaya Cave is located in an incredibly picturesque place - on the banks of the Volga, where relict trees grow, ermines, white-tailed eagles and other animals live. You can come here from Kazan for one day on your own or as part of an excursion group.

One of the most popular Tatar soups is shurpa, cooked in thick meat broth made from lamb shoulder.

Second courses
