You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile

"WE WON'T EVEN NOTICE WHEN WE'LL LEARN TO BREATH"
ABOUT KARAOKE CLUBS
- I had a bitter experience. Once, on tour, the owners of a karaoke club invited me to dinner. Of course, I couldn't resist and tried to sing one of my songs. I don’t remember whether it was “Fair”, or “Where the circus went”. As a result, I forgot the words, and karaoke gave me a "three". I did not repeat such attempts again.
RESULTS OF 2012
- It was the so-called anniversary year. With all my dislike for the word "anniversary", 40 years on the stage is such a figure that you can't turn away. I had to make a program and go on an anniversary tour. Right now I am in Kyiv with my show. In addition, he released a disc - a video of this concert called "Artist". In general, the year is very eventful, difficult, and I can’t wait until it finally ends. From the next year, I expect it to be no worse than the outgoing one.
DOES YOU BELIEVE IN THE END OF THE WORLD?
- I'll give you a simple example. There is an advertisement on TV 24 hours a day: “The end of the world is coming! But you still have time to drive the car of your dreams. ” Here is your answer. This is not the end of the world, but a good business project. And they also say: "The end of the world will not come to Russia, it will come out of it."
WHAT IS LOVE?
- Wise men have already broken their heads trying to decipher and explain this phenomenal human feeling. But, in my opinion, the answer that would suit everyone has not been found. I'm afraid, and I belong to the number of people who unsuccessfully searched for an answer to this question. I think the explanation for this feeling is born inside each person. You just need to listen to yourself.
ABOUT MY FIRST CONCERT
- My first concert as a professional was in the village of Loima, Komi ASSR. The frost was fierce, 40 degrees. The club was located in the church building. I remember, in order to somehow warm up, we first dug up firewood, knocked ice off it, then flooded stoves in the church, which as a result smoked the whole building. I had to ventilate, freeze and heat again. I will never forget this concert. The cold was terrible, probably forty people came. But it was my victory! Despite the terrible cold, I was dressed in something exotic, even then I could not stand strict concert costumes.
ABOUT NEW SONGS
- I have a huge problem with my repertoire right now. There is nothing worthy in which one could invest strength and energy. A few new songs that have appeared just the other day are the only ones that we managed to dig up from a huge heap of material in almost a whole year.
ABOUT THINGS
- I confess that closets are literally surviving me from the apartment. I have already sold things at auctions, given them away, even burned them. I remember once in my dacha I made a huge bonfire out of old photographs, costumes, and shoes. He burned all the 70s at one time. And my favorite costumes are those that have appeared recently. In fact, it doesn’t matter to me at all whether I look fashionable or not. I dress according to my mood, only some elements are suggested by fashion designers. For example, now I have a craving for overalls. This era of overalls has begun.
IS IT REALLY THAT YOU SEW YOUR OWN CLOTHES?
- It was a very long time ago, in the mid-70s. I could not go on stage in what I was prescribed - a suit and tie, so I began to invent outfits myself. True, no one undertook to sew what I drew. I had to master the elements of the cut myself. He did it quite successfully. For five years I was tinkering with patterns, threads and patterns. Only in 1980 did I have an artist who began to invent everything for me. Since then, I have not picked up a needle and thread.
IS IT REALLY THAT HE DIVORCES MY WIFE?
- Not true! Some fool came up with all this in order to increase the circulation of the "yellow" press. The rest got it. Everything is fine with Lucy. As usual, we will celebrate the New Year together in our house in Miami.
WHAT CAN UPGRADE OR ANGRY HIM?
- My answer is very simple, there can be only one reason - stupidity! This is the most terrible quality in a person for me. Unfortunately, I encounter him quite often.
ABOUT TATTOOS
- Just one day I felt that I needed it and got my first tattoo. That was exactly twenty years ago. I didn’t fight off the hunt, and therefore later I made myself more and more. In the end, there are now eight of them, and in different places on my body. Time passed, fashion changed. At first there were images of animals, then ornaments, hieroglyphs. When I realized that I was turning into a patchwork quilt, I decided to combine all the tattoos with some kind of drawing aesthetic that would cover all my diversity. Now I have one big tattoo that starts from the heels and ends at the back of the head.
ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS WITH LIMA VAIKULE
- We have never been friends with Laima, because friendship involves spending time together. Artists simply do not have such an opportunity. Lima and I are on friendly terms, nothing more. When we meet somewhere on tour or on television, we say hello, laugh, giggle and ... we go in different directions. Once Lima and I had a really successful duet. We agreed with her in terms of timbre, texture and even movements. But a duet is a unique living organism that is very difficult to find and preserve. And I don’t welcome the current trend, when two famous artists are “merged into one glass”, making duets. I don't know with whom I could sing together today. Probably, there is no such artist.
WHO FOLLOWS HIS NUTRITION AND DIET?
- No one is watching me, and I have only one diet: shut your mouth! I never adhered to any norms. When I go on tour, I eat at the hotel where I live. When I visit Kyiv, I always stay with my old friends Valya and Kolya. They are incredibly hospitable.
HOW DOES YOU RECOVER AFTER WORK?
- Lying down. I lay down on the sofa with a book or watch a movie and pour dry wine into my glass. I don't like listening to music when I'm relaxing. Alas, in my life I have to listen to so much mediocre music that they send me that I get terribly tired of it. Now for me silence is the best of compositions.
KEEPING FIT
- My only workload is forty minutes of training anywhere I go. At one time I bought two belts (American system), which are attached to any door. With their help, you can work with your own weight. This is the same as carrying 40 kilograms of dumbbells with you. I have a certain system of exercises that I do every day. Without this, I would have swum a long time ago. Still, age destroys the elasticity of the body.
ABOUT FAVORITE HOLIDAYS
- It seems to me that in my former life I was an islander. You always want to go to the islands, even in summer when it's very hot. I have already been to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Mallorca, the Maldives, the Canaries. Now I'm aiming for the Seychelles. From each island I bring some trinket. By the way, here is the collection for you: I collect islands...
