Our Friday and Saturday evening parties are intended to provide weekly opportunities for our student body and their guests to learn some new steps and practice dancing together. These parties are open to the general public and are specifically designed to cater to beginning dancers, while their subject matter is subject to the desires of the student body as a whole.
Participation in private parties, on the other hand, is limited to the group which has arranged for the party. These parties have the advantage of being customizable to a particular group's level of dancing and allow that group to decide which dances will be taught and how their parties will be structured. For the students' convenience, these parties can be scheduled anytime throughout the week that is not already occupied by another event. In short, private parties mean maximum ownership.
The minimum requirement for beginning a weekly private party is a regular weekly attendance of 60 people or more at $15 per person for a period of three hours. If numbers drop below this minimum for more than two consecutive weeks, the party will be truncated at two hours until the minimum requirement is again satisfied, essentially becoming a regular two-hour group class. Should attendance then continue to fall below 30 people, the parties will revert to the regular group rate of $10 per person per hour.
If you have a group which would like to begin a weekly private party, we would recommend that you start out with a regular group class at $10 per person per hour. Build the group to 30 regular attenders, and the cost drops to $15 per person per two-hours. Continue to build to 60 regular attenders, and everyone gets an extra hour free of charge. Some groups may choose to use that time for potluck fellowships, others for performances or games, and still others for group studies. The time is yours, and you can do with it as you please.
If you would be interested in establishing a regular weekly party for your group, please let us know so we can help you to develop a strategy for getting started.
